I own this card since January, and now GPU temps and hotspot temp have increased dramatically, without any intense use of the GPU. In the beginning, temps were around 64 degrees under full load for the GPU and hotspot 72 degrees. Now under full load, GPU temp reaches 78 degrees Celsius and hotspot temp 110 degrees. I had to undervolt it in order not to gradually destroy the GPU with those temps. Notice @06:05 how the thermal paste is not applied correctly and some spots are not covered ! This is causing high temps on the hotspot reading in HWiNFO... This video confirms my suspicions that this GPU model (the Gaming OC) is suffering from the so called pump-out effect , due to bad thermal paste apply or quality.

For anyone interested the white Gigabyte 4070 Ti AERO OC also goes to 119% power limit (and 88C temp limit, not that it matters, you should never get near that). It also reaches the 2850 Mhz core clock out of the box. So they're identical in that regard.

Just bought this big guy. Waiting for a few more parts to arrive to do the build. I was split between this and the Aorus Elite for 50 bucks more to match my Aorus Elite motherboard but I decided this was my OCD talking and should just get the Gaming OC instead. Really stoked about it but the only thing I don't like is the connectors in the middle (would've also been the case with Aorus Elite). It's probably going to line up right under my CPU cooler (somewhat large and tall air cooler) and since I'm using the Deepcool bracket with the ARGB and the cable hiding channel, well... probably won't be able to do it with this card. I'll still use it to support the card further to the right but it won't hide the cables. It's fine but it rubs my OCD the wrong way.

I wound up getting the Gaming X Trio version, but I agree on the connector. Plugging into the card is absolutely terrifying, it took a huge amount of pressure. I think this totally explains why so many users had trouble with burnt connectors on 4090 cards, from not being plugged in all the way.

Thanks so much for continueing to give these cards some sun light and appropriate coverage, especially since so many people are buying them, even though most tech tubers have checked out of educating the public and holding these manufacturers accountable to their work on these cards from these companies. ​@@peterpan408no, because 1440p is where this card shines, capable of sustained 165 fps in most titles. I've been running this GPU since launch and haven't had any VRAM issues. The 4070/Ti/80/90 are aimed at gamers on board with ray tracing and DLSS, there are no other make of GPU that can compete in the ray tracing arena. If that's not your thing, fair enough, save yourself a few dollars and buy a traditional GPU. A lot depends on the quality of your monitor, many gamers use LCD displays not really capable of displaying that great of an image, this sort of card deserves a higher quality monitor, tbh the 4070Ti is wasted on IPS monitors, a Mini LED QD VA or QD OLED offers a better balance.

I like Gigabyte, my GTX 1070 is a G1 Gaming and it's still going strong after 5 years. Their software suit though is a complete and utter mess.

Extremely disappointed that, instead of talking about UNDERCLOCKING, you exclusively talked about overclocking (which is pointless)... And it's a shame, too, because the RTX 4070Ti, especially this one from Gigabyte (which I bought myself a month ago), can be an absolute MONSTER when underclocking (i.e. power consumption drops to 170 - 180W, temperatures hover @ ~ 50 - 55 degrees, and in many games the fans don't even start spinning).

I have same card and dont care about noise or temps since they're both already good even with max OC of 200 core and 600 memory. The question is did you get better perfomance fps wise with your underclock?

@@peterpan408 I understand the sarcasm (attempt), however please do tell me when did you ever see a xx60 card that had similar performance to the absolute top card of the previous generation (in this case the 3090Ti)? Well... as far as I remember, it has never happened in the past two decades (not since the GeForce 6600GT, which wasn't really a xx60 type card, since at that point there was no "6700GT" available). Heck, even the GTX 1060 was still quite a bit slower than the GTX 980Ti (and we all know that Pascal was one of the best architectures/jumps in performance that nVIDIA ever had). So, there was no way that the 4070Ti was ever going to be a xx60 GPU with the performance it has. People are complaining about the 192 bit memory bus and disappointing memory size (and they do have a point), however, at the end of the day, the actual performance is all that matters. And the 4070Ti has extremely good performance at 1440p that matches or exceeds that of the 3090Ti, and good performance at 4K (the 3090Ti being a bit faster at this resolution). All in all, the Ada architecture is just more forgiving when it comes to memory bus width (probably because of the major increase in L2 cache size compared to previous gens). Now, of course, in an ideal world, the 4090 should've been a 4080, so the 4080 would've been a 4070Ti, and the 4070Ti would've been a 4060... and in such a scenario, the Ada architecture would've made history. But it's not an ideal world and they don't exactly call nVIDIA "nGreedia" for nothing...

to be honest any game the 3080 or 3090 beats it can just be chalked up to probably a driver issue. Im sure in another month this thing will walk a 3090ti all day just in pure raster perf. Then you factor in DLSS 3.0 its not even close.

I am perplexed at why i have the exact same card but some of your specs are different. Like his is on 4nm and 295 mm die size but mine is 5nm and 294mm die size. Anybody know the reason behind this and if it makes a difference? As far as i know lower die size=better but i dont understand because they should be the exact same card.

It doesn't fit, but I manage to push it in lol. It made the front bottom 200mm fan bulge out abit and the mesh stopped it from spinning. I broke the plastic on the mesh area that hinder the spin to make it work! All take note. Can fit but very very hard to fit

seriously not a good card zotac overclocks to 3050mhz and the memory goes to 12500 power limit also goes to 130 volatge can be increased very easily as well default seems 1.1 volts but can go more up way better quality

The '4070ti' is xx60 class hardware. Complete with the xx60 12GB memory size and bandwidth. It's called a 4070ti because they are trying to pull xx60 (effective) cards up to $800 price.. If it's got 12GB and 192-bit, it's a xx60 card 🤫

I picked up the ASUS TUF 4070 TI for $799 and it is an amazing card however, I did return it because I just couldn't justify dropping almost $900 for a GPU! I'll just wait and meanwhile just play the same games on Steam but on PS5/Xbox Series X and my steam deck.

I have this card but the fan column power limit maxes out at 100%. Is there a setting i need to tick to allow me to change it to 119%?
