How good is the mechanical filtration by the Ultima filters in a display tank application?
@nietrelevant33385 жыл бұрын
So i work as a wastewater engineer, and i wondered if you ever considered AFM (activated filter media, treated glass beads) in a canister filter as a way of mechanical filtration? Might be cheaper then a rotating drum filter, and will work a charm + even provides a nice log reduction for bacteria (not viruses but your uv takes care of that nway). And it generally performs way way better for removal of particles then traditional sand media. Although i'm not sure if it is available in small amounts. Edit4: plus a traditonal pool sand filter is cheaper then a ultima 2 most likely

Amazing. What media does Kevin keep in the canister filters?

Get your daughter a phone holder! It’ll help her help you film because it may be hard to hold a phone for a long period of time compared to a stick which she can hold with both hands. PS, love the fact that your daughter helps you out! Keep pushing out more content! 😁😁

Hi Kevin, How are you? I would like to know, do you use active carbon at your system?

Hi Kevin I have a question can you use carbon with stingrays?

Hey Kevin, on the drum system, does it automatically spray at a certain time each day, or does the spray bar spray when there is a certain amount of dirty water stuck to the drum?

What's the grade of mess used in rotatory drum filter?
@StingrayBiology5 жыл бұрын
I don't remember. I was factory standard. I'm guessing 75 micron

I want a ray but my largest tank is 250 is there any small species?
@StingrayBiology5 жыл бұрын
250 gallon is more then enough to house most rays. Many captive bred rays don't reach maximum size like wild rays.
