this whole situation was pulling my heart because i love dress to impress, not just the game itself but also playing it with my friends and making new friends on it. i’m so relieved that Gigi apologized and is taking a step back to improve herself. i’m hopeful that things are going to get less toxic and i’m so excited for all the new updates

Exactly. About a year ago before the game came out i got hacked and lost everything i worked so hard for in royal high right before the huge school update. I was so devastated because i lost all my items and my royal high items i worked so hard to get so at that point i quit. I made so many memories and roleplays in that game and even cosplayed with other people finding their intrests. Now that i started to play dress to impress i make new memories.

so a quick summary, Gigi did admit to all of this, she apologized to those whom she made feel discomfort. She then wrote a big apology after the notice who had came to the dress to impress community, Gigi did also mention a few things that she will add the game itself. But for now, she’s hiring a new dress to impress manager. and no she will NOT be firing Umoyae, she just needs a break after the small occasion. ( please correct me otherwise! )

I really hope that Gigi and the team keep their word when it comes to what they’ve announced for the game because a) i want the devs, the other people involved and the players to be happy and feel included in the future b) we definitely need improvements when it comes to bad behaviour on the game. it’s getting really out of hand! On another note, the new larger body type models look great! I have faith that they will make them work.

I do also think the response to the situation has been very…interesting. It’s a lot of children (who are the primary player base, so i understand) saying that this whole thing only came about due to “it girl devs being jealous that dti is successful so they lied about everything” which i think is unfair to say and not true. I personally think that it's a good idea for her to step away and reflect on what happened and actually take time to recollect herself. While this whole thing was happening I kept asking myself the question, “WHERE ARE GIGIS PARENTS?” Yes Gigi should have known better than to do these things, but I’m also wondering where her adult supervision is, and how they allowed this to happen. Sara being 21 really does make this worse. I can understand why she felt the need to clear up false r*pe allegations from a minor before they start. Joking about r*pe isn't funny. Tho I do think Gigi can grow as a person and learn from her mistakes. And I don't like people acting like she should be a saint at 14 years old. The difference in maturity from 14-17 is insane and from 17-21. Gigi is a child and as a manager that works with children who are 16+ you have to be understanding that they are young in school, still rely on their parents. Even at 21 I still make stupid choices but the truth is I have grown people are really downplaying the lack of maturity in a 17 year old, she’s only been able to drive for a year she can’t even vote.

I'm still going to play DTI, and I love the statement Gigi had posted and the fact that she is taking a step back. When I first heard about the drama, I was confused cuz it came out of nowhere and I lowkey felt like Sara exposed Gigi just to ruin her reputation and stuff and that all of this could have been delt privately, which I kinda still feel like it should have. But now getting in deeper, I can't really in other words, defend Gigi. I really don't have much to say but I hope everything is mostly fixed and taken care of, and that we can move past this. The only changes that I want to see in DTI is making everyone in the game invisible when we are getting dressed and everything, so no one will copy or anything. And then when it comes to voting, everyone reappears on the runway of course. Changes in the community is the less rude and toxic people, the better. I just want people to stop hacking/exploiting the game. Stop being inappropriate, like with the themes they are buying or going naked. There is a lot to say but overall, I feel like those are the main ones.

I had someone come up to me today and ask be about my stance regarding this whole drama. I think DTI is a project with visions of many people, and in some cases the „Art“ and the „Artist“ should be separated. They called me a defender of p*dophiles after I asked them where they pull the claims of Gigi being a predator, even trying to explain this whole thing peaceful with the accessible infos for everyone. Couldn’t even finish the conversation and got framed as a p*do defender to the point I had to log off my game. People claim shit that they can’t know about, even making stuff up to the point it’s unreal. Read what is available for you to inform yourself, it’s not that hard.

I’m completely fair to Sara and I do feel bad about what she’s been through as well as others involved. I also don’t believe that Gigi should have been outed because that was very unnecessary to the situation. I very much agree people can change and due to her being so young she has room to definitely be a better person. I agree with you, sounds like Gigi is really remorseful but we should always see to it that her words match her actions. Although I will give her the time and space to grow and be a great leader that we know she can be because no one can get to where she is with our talent and that we can not take away from Gigi. My thoughts: I’m honestly happy that Gigi stepped down. And no, I do not hate her, but she did what was best for dti and I’m glad she’s trying to change her ways. Now about the argument between Sarah and Gigi. Never had I played it girl, but I know that there was blood sweat and tears put into it girl and dti and I respect it. I don’t think it’s fair how people are arguing about Sarah being an Adult and Gigi being in her teenage years, because the age gap doesn’t matter in this situation. Gigi still did awful things to Sarah that she shouldn’t have, so why are people saying things like “oh Sarah’s 24 and Gigi is only 17” ? Because it really doesn’t matter in this situation. Sarah didn’t deserve what Gigi did to her and Gigi made the right decision to step down and work on herself. I respect every dev and creator for both it girl and dti, and Gigi’s parents/ guardians should decide what to do with Gigi and should write an apology to Sarah themselves. And I’m not saying forgive and forget because that’s not what should happen in this situation. This wasn’t fair to Sarah and I still respect both her and Gigi. as a 20 year old i would never expose a 17 year old online like this, i feel it would be my job as an adult and more mature person in the situation to address any issue privately. i simply cannot imagine any situations where me or any of my similarly adult friends would just expose a minor online for dumb behaviors minors just do online. these behaviors are common in people who do not get much parental surveillance and thats the main issue here IMHO. thats all i have to say as an adult who does not talk to anyone below 19 unless its a family member or just out of necessity, especially online......

Im a 17 year old and I think that she should be held accountable for her actions. She fatshamed and made fun of pictures of someone who wasn't even Sara and she was obviously "mature enough" to joke about serious allegations that could destroy someones life, so why wouldn't she be mature enough to be held accountable. Yes, there could've been better ways to call her out, but those things aren't just "dumb behaviors," those are REAL PROBLEMS that occur daily.

I’m honestly relived. I think GiGi was truly sorry considering how sincere that apology seemed ! I love DTI and now she’s taking a break for a bit , apologised and working on new features for the game itself - shows she actually cares.i think GiGi deserves a second chance imo. i don’t follow dti or play it often or even know who these developers are, but from what I can see, Gigi has potential to change if this is what her first steps are looking like what she did was wrong and VERY poor taste. but no matter what people try to upscale the situation to, she did not do anything illegal. i don’t like cancel culture because it leaves very little room for growth and is very black and white with it’s justification. if people are upset and stop playing dti that’s okay and will probably end up happening, but right now it’s looking much better than whatever the shitshow was a few days ago.

Then came “It Girls.” Don’t you think it’s weird that a game like “It Girls” would target a popular one like “Dress to Impress” just to bring it down? Yes, the “Dress to Impress” developer may have made inappropriate comments, but honestly, who hasn’t? I wouldn’t be surprised if the “It Girls” developer also talked shit about them. Once someone tries to cancel a big game or “celebrity,” it spirals out of control, and everyone jumps in, saying things that are likely untrue. Look at Mr. Beast as an example-he got canceled by one person, and suddenly, everyone was piling on with false accusations. People need to see that Sara is just spreading random accusations and dragging others into it to tear apart the “Dress to Impress” community. The fact that she had to post it on Twitter or any platform shows how immature she is and how she can’t handle criticism. And like I said, I’m sure Sara has said bad things about the developer too. Great Video on the situation! I still think if you aren't mentally mature enough to act and treat people with kindness and respect then you shouldn't be Developing or Owning anything. taking a step back wouldn't be needed if she was able to handle anger or frustration like a adult, I'm always here for self growth when you are young and make a lot of mistakes this is normal, we all grow into mature adults capable of handling pressure situations-but TBH I've seen to much of this with the younger crowd and it does not sit right with me. In all honesty Gigi shouldn’t have done what she did but if she was 14 it is understandable because she is a child trying to fit into society let alone with school pressure and everything let alone she apologised which unlike people who are Gigi’s age who do way worse (I’m not joking they actually do it) and do it unapologetically (I’m the same age as her and what I’ve heard is way way worse they’ve done way way worse). I do agree Gigi needs to step back and reflect on what she did wrong. But I also think people can’t be so cruel and attack her like that. Many 14-17 year olds have said or done something messed up. That’s what teenagers are. I’ve said and done bad things which looking back now I cringe and would hate myself for.
