I went from being voted the shyest girl in 8th grade to being voted most original my senior year. I also stopped caring and wore what I wanted. Sometimes I dress completely out there and people ask why and it’s just because I like it.

@feliciacae
@feliciacae 3 жыл бұрын
@@favourmarie5397 it’s hard but I wanted to wear whatever I wanted. Maybe start with 1 thing that’s out of your comfort zone but that you truly love and want to wear and then don’t think about other people at all. If you look happy people take it as confidence. Honestly it’s a lot of fake it until you make it. And if it you want to wear something weird don’t acknowledge that it’s weird. Treat it like it’s normal. But start with something you love because it’s easy to feel confident in something you love!

@@favourmarie5397i can relate to this a lot. I too am going into 8th grade this year and my mom is very judgmental of my style. What i do is push myself to wear one outfit out of my comfort zone a week, and im pushing myself extra hard for the first week of school by wearing 4 out of my comfort zone. The more used to wearing clothes you want, the easier it gets. Dw, youll be fine :D

the 2 tips that impacted my closet the most are the avatar and the thinking back to your childhood ideas!! i thought of my closet like a dressup game and got rid of the clothes i wouldn’t be excited to put on my avatar. i also had a sunflower dress when i was little that i loved wearing with colorful cowboy boots so recently i’ve been styling my dresses with a pair of pink cowboy boots and it feels so ✨me✨!

to the people saying that she's following trends: I can't speak for her, but keep in mind that liking something trendy doesn't mean you like it BECAUSE it's trendy. she might wear something that's considered trendy, but that doesn't mean she is doing it for the sake of the trend, she might genuinely like it. also, almost all fashion is trendy in some corner of the internet. it just matters what you genuinely like and will stick with.

YES on the dress shaming! I now wear dresses almost every day because I find them to be the comfiest, easiest outfit for my body (it's literally a 1-piece outfit, so quick and easy) but for years I avoided wearing them even though I wanted to because whenever I did, I would get unwanted attention in passive aggressive comments like, "Wow I could never put that much effort into getting ready," "What are you dressed up for?," and "You're probably judging me for my sweatpants right now lol." Big NLOG energy. Eventually I said F em and started wearing dresses as much as I wanted, but people still love to comment on it, as if the most self absorbed thing a woman can do is to wear a dress. 🙄 It's just a piece of cloth people!

Important to note is also that you don't need to look perfect 24/7 Fashion is fun, I like fashion. But I've been feeling the pressure to always look my best and look put together all the time so much lately. Living in a big city near a lot of shops, when I'm just strolling around I see all these girls dressed perfectly. There are barely any people that aren't dressed up a bit. It makes me feel self conscious to go out in my comfy basic clothes. Cause even though I don't really dress to impress, I often feel super unattractive seeing all those girls. It feels like I'm getting judged. And again, I live in a big city with a lot of shops nearby, basically the whole country comes here to shop, and there are many many tourists. For most people I see, it probably is a special occasion, which is why they dressed up. So it's really just my mindset that needs fixing. Something else that bothers me about that is that I have only a couple of things that I really really love. I wear them so often, but I can't wear them all the time. Clothes gotta get washed, and I don't wanna get sick of those clothes either ya know lmao. So it just bothers me that I'm almost pushing myself to buy more clothes so that I can look cuter more often... Even though I deep down don't really want to. (I like clothes, but I have a deep dislike for shopping) It's just good to keep in mind that you don't have to dress up cause boy... Dressing for other people becomes so stressful.

I think this is so true and definitely falls into the category of wearing the clothing you feel most anxious to wear BUT makes you, YOU. If non dressy comfy clothes is how you feel most comfortable 80% of the time, just like for someone else that may be a dress, it’s about ha ving the courage to dress comfy, and that doesn’t mean that your style is any less valid than the person that feels more comfortable in a dress. You know? And the hardest part is trying not to compare yourself because everyone’s self expression is different. I know that super hard though so I get it.

YES i live in the main street most fucked up decision I’ve ever made but what the fuck am I supposed to do when i just need bread?? I prefer to go to quieter shops around 2-3 blocks away as I usually do also lines are shorter But to be honest from their perspective it would be really cool to just live there and go out in relaxed clothing if you’re confident in it it’s kind of a dream to live there for so many people. To the point it’s not “special” for you Like whatever a shirt and jeans or even sleepwear in the mornings like a dad lmao. I’ve seen seiyuus pictures and they wear normal clothes when they’re rehearsing, yet dress really fancy for stage performances (like kanon69) As for repetition I’m just planning on wearing a uniform like delancy from princess charm school cause its camp but blends with a uniform and just wear that everyday cause i grew up with uniforms and it makes me feel comfortable but also focused on my activities Honestly fuck all of them lol, I think the more activities you do the easier it is to just be relaxed and say fuck it, buy the supplies you need eat out and not really care and be thinking about your next steps on your projects instead. It’s so much more fun and interesting to have a personality, genuine interests AND good looks but only dress up when you want, and way less insecure It’s been a year from your comment so did you manage to solve this and how?

Omg u people so much thinking…you can choose very high quality “comfy clothes “ (they will cost more but u will look put together. You can buy more than 1 of the same thing( u can have 5 black sweatpants to match with different t-shirts) so u don’t have to think to much about it. The important thing is they are clean/ high quality fabric and u take care of your hair/nails and that’s it u can wear almost always the same combination of outfits

I really related to your story about your highschool experience. I just started highschool last year and I was the new kid. I sat by myself at lunch and in the beginning of the year wore clothes that felt true to me, but I found throughout the year I started to wear what everyone else was wearing and I was not comfortable with it. I felt like I was being judged and became self conscious, it was not fun. I then started to find my style this summer. I now wear my natural curls and my pixies like style! I am so comfortable in my skin now and in how I dress. I found confidence through your videos. thinking back to your childhood ideas and fashion is definitely a good tip! I think because often when we are very young we feel like we have more freedom of expression? Like you barely see trends and stuff as a kid and you also don't get as judged easily fashion-wise either? But when we get into our teen years we suddenly see trends and stuff and others judge your fashion choices and you start to think bad of your style. Idk just a theory haha.

Thank you SO much for the amazing content you post; i've only watched two of your videos and already hooked!

i 100% agree with all of this! this video was so perfect and now you have a new subscriber 😌💞 another thing that i found has been helpful for me is looking at my closet and before decluttering kinda just playing dress up lol. i found there were a lot of things, mainly accessories, that i have and i absolutely love but never wore because i was too scared to wear it. so maybe even try digging through your closet and grabbing the things you don’t wear as often and style it. that may help you broaden your wardrobe without actually buying things yet to help if you’re in that rut of just wearing the same outfits that feel safe. and it can save you from buying clothes you already have something similar too. ok bye idk why i’ve been talking for so long

Teen dramas fucked me up so bad. I thought this girl was 16 until she mentioned she’s 21. I am 16 and I was comparing my face, my 16-year-old body to that of an adult. So glad she mentioned, it really called me out and made me more calm :)

one thing that I think about right now is finding my style and I’m getting a lot of progress this past year. I absolutely love bright colors, long dresses & skirts, ruffles, flowers/florals etc... though I’ve always had a struggle with picking an aesthetic though I try to think about what Mina Le said “Aesthetic can be limiting having a style ≠ an aesthetic” (or something like that) I realized I’ve been putting myself in a box all this time also you introducing new ideas to me so thx for the vid 💕 I can’t believe I didn’t even know about your channel till now

Another thing if you like RPGs (or really any videogame in general) is to base some outfits off of your favourite characters/character designs, this can especially help for if youre just trying to explore your style, for example i have a friend who does this and they one day dressed like jean from genshin impact, on another day dressed like basil from omori and on another went out like natsukis casual wear from ddlc, they liked the basil outfit the most and right now their style is mainly cottage core!

going back to college in the fall, and thinking about wearing what i love in my closet makes me anxious because so many girls dress differently. freshman year i bought a bunch of clothing that didn't align with me, and it mentally dragged me down. my uni has mostly athletic wear, sweats, and plain styled tops that i've never felt myself in. this summer i made it my goal to explore my fashion and it's been a success! i've been finding pieces that i LOVE, and can see wearing for years ahead. i wish i started working on my personal style earlier, but now i'm able to pinpoint things like colors, necklines, and even what type of pantleg i most enjoy. this especially helps while thrifting. i still have a long way to go!! thank you for this video!!!! ❤︎ ❤︎

I am calling my style gremlin with a bit of pastel pink. I love brown a lot and dark green (I don't have much green but love wearing it) then pink- neon pink suits my skintone better but love pastel pink sooo much! I like paisley print and other small intricate pattern (sucker for floral but I have so much so im calming down with it)... and bows on clothing... idk kinda random but I just like bows lol.

I’m 39 and one thing I’ve learned over the years is I can like or love something but that doesn’t mean it’s “for me.” Not to say there are rules, but more so I have a better sense of what is or isn’t going to feel like me.

I used to be emo and for years after still wore mainly black, and white bc I didn’t feel confident wearing bold colors or diff types of fits but one day I bought a pair of hot pink adidas sweatpants and omg- they literally changed my perspective on clothes sm and now my wardrobe has tons of color and I rarely wanna wear dark colors or feel like my old favorites (browns, dark greens, navy blues and black) were even flattering now that I’m comfortable wearing other things I’ve experimented with

yo same lolll i noticed romwe has a lot of cool graphic tees. you may honestly find some cute stuff in random stores tho tbh you have no idea how much like walmart will surprise me sometimes 🤣 so just try to stay on the lookout even if it doesn’t necessarily seem like a place where you’d expect to find cute stuff 😌

heyy, like the others said you can go thrifting or on depop and vinted ! I would also recommend checking the store Uniqlo, they have a lot of good basics which aren't cropped! It can be a bit more expensive than some other stores but honestly not that much in the end and the quality is usually pretty good!

I really needed this cause when my birthday comes Im changing my whole closet since some of them aren't my style or some of them are already too small for me and I needed to find a style i like then buy those type of clothes. What is the first thing you need to buy tho? do you need to but the clothes first or the accessories? or do you buy both at once?
