This guy is the most anticipated Joe for me. Doc is a second, also. I have always loved Duke and the Classified versions were okay except for the things we all have griped about. I did kitbash as close to classic with ny Duke - first release upper half, TF Dusty lower with leg sheath swapped, then TF Duke’s belt and bandolier. I was happy with that one until this one was shown. I get Duke and Recondo in the mail today. I can’t wait to get home from work to check them out.

I wanted this so much that I ordered Two Duke's and Two Scarlett's!!!! I also ordered an Extra Gig Line because you never know when you need an extra Gig Line (couldn't resist!!!) These are my favorite classified figures bar none!!! I will paint those Greenie weapons because I have to!!!! Yo Joe!!! Peace on the Battleground!!!!

I like it when you ramble a bit. You share your military experience. Helps to give a better picture. I know these are toys. I know the soldier has standards that may or may not be represented in the toys. It’s appreciated you share your experience. I’m enjoying the retros quite a bit. Snake Eyes, Scarlet, Duke…they just have a different charm about them.

I only have tiger force Duke rn and wasn't about to pay ridiculous prices for classified Duke on the aftermarket. This retro classified Duke will be the one who leads my early Joe camp!✨✨✨ nice review also I think I might sell off my classified scarlets once the reto one hits!✨

The original Duke did not have a visor at all he did have the big holes though. It is heavily rumored that the helmet is just going to be reused for the starduster coming soon

I liked the classified Duke figure and think I’ll like this take as well. With Scarlett I was happy to see a modernized version of that figure in classified despite the complaints on the head sculpt and articulation and color choices for that version but the retro for her is top notch. Maybe they’ll do a resolute or the comic aesthetic of her art some point also just to get away from that outdated look she has had for sometime now

Of the other Classified Duke figures, I like the Tiger Force one the most. Which is odd, cause I'm not a big Tiger Force fan. Retro Duke will definitely be replacing my TF Duke though. This figures been a long time coming, and I'm glad we finally have it. I'd bet the OG helmet and visor were primarily made for the upcoming Starduster figure that's been rumored.

Great review Bee! I’m supposedly getting this today via Amazon. They’re killing me with the non universal pins and pegs for classified line though my gosh just insane they didn’t standardize the pegs and pins for these 6in figures

Hey Bobby - the pistol and the binoculars are gang-molded together. The two rifles are gang-molded together, hence the color weirdness. Duke didn't have the visor (or the hole) same as Roadblock back in the day. The funny thing is the visored OG helmet would work for the OG joes, but they gave them all updated helmets.Finally, I'll try some Marvel Legends chop hands for the salute. The peg may be more forgiving. As far as the preference, I will be replacing this Duke in my collection over the field variant version.

This is a really nice figure! They put some good effort into it and I will definitely get this! I think painting the pistol grips green to match the rifle would look cool. Competition from Action Force has inspired Hasbro to really step it up and I'm for it! I collect both lines and it's all good! Good review.

My only gripes so far is the lack of ab crunch those chest swivels have. Also, the wrist to hand is so stark that it breaks uo the realism. It's probably because he isn't wearing a watch or have a wrist band. Either way, I have him preordered on Pulse. Supposed to ship after April 10th, but who knows. They change thr dates so arbitrarily.

I like the earlier, updated Dukes that came out, but I missed them. Instead of getting one from the secondary market, I have this one coming. As a Top Kick, I can see him being stodgy enough to keep an old-school look. I skipped the retro Scarlett because I'm happy with the Classified v2 of her.

Very excited about this version. Tiger force duke came with that signature weapon, (this one is green). At least they gave us a nice updated pistol that has port hole. Bobby always complaining about colors of weapons. Looks good, waiting patiently for mine. Thank you for the review, better that you nemesis video, that guy is a joke.

Good review! Totally agree with Moray! Rattler is cool, but takes up so much space and only 2 guys can be in it! Makes it difficult to accessorize…. And a ground crew for it… is lame..

So I always wondered if Duke is a Green Beret or not. He went special forces and lead spec op classes . The commission he turned down I would think would be a green to gold type deal. Surely he didn’t turn down the title of Green Beret. Your thoughts??

I think it'd be more of a "battlefield commission" where as green to gold is more of you apply for. As for being a Green Beret, that would depend on your interpretation and head Canon, yes, he's special forces so technically he would be and as GIJoe I'd have to say he's the best of the best, especially to lead them

okay, so unless you're a die hard retro fan and want your Classified Duke, exactly the way it was first released, you take the new retro one, otherwise the redeco release of the first Duke (the one portrayed in this review for comparison) clearly destroys the new retro release.

@beesbattlegrounds I'm good ain't I? I heard the pronunciation of the words you say. Forget what words they were but I know you didn't say this but this would be an example. Cold. Half of jersey says cold with the l. The other half and into pa and surrounding states and areas say code. You guys leave out the l. Many other words you say that you never realized you said differently, like house and home. Most people don't pick up on things like this lol. I'm from the jersey shore, my family's from PA and Trenton. We talk so differently and I'm only 40 minutes from Trenton and the Delaware River.
