I'd be really keen to know: what did the musicians themselves think? Did they have any remarks? Obvious preferences? Any pluses and minuses to panels vs. no panels? Thanks!

Hey Rob. The musicians were really surprised by how much difference the panels made. They thought it was easier to play in the treated room as the sound is more focused. When mixing, the untreated room sounded washed out. The main difference to my ears was the focus of the cymbals - with the room untreated there was far more comb filtering which made them sound thin and washy. It also seems quieter in the room now it is treated as the high frequencies don’t bounce about so much - this is just a perception thing but it makes a big difference on longer sessions for the musicians.
