Top 15 all time 5 years in is straight up silly. I love Luka, I think's there's a great chance there's going to be a top 10 all timer spot waiting for him when he retires. But to even float his name in that conversation currently is premature. He's 25 and playing right now... the normal comp would be other guys in the NBA who are also still building their resumes. I get that it's sort of a compliment aimed at how much he's achieved, but there's no rational "Luka is top 15" debate that doesn't degrade those same accomplishments with things he hasn't done yet (MVP, Finals appearance, NBA Champ, etc) I'll always believe that "I'm taking my talents to South Beach" was the first moment that truly inspired mass hate on Lebron, but as his career continues onward, a lot (not all) of the criticism he's drawn has more to do with his legacy than the season he's currently playing. It's made for a situation where one of the greatest players of all time (the greatest is debatable for me, but that's he's ONE OF the greatest is not) is also one of the most disliked. I'm not saying he'd be universally loved, but I do think he would be enjoyed and appreciated more without the constant application of the Jordan yardstick. To be fair, some of that is his own doing, some is totally out of his hands, and some is just human nature. My point is that when you start these legacy conversations so early, fans of the people Luka will be supplanting on the all time list along the way will feel obligated to defend their guy, often by trying to poke holes in a career that's still evolving. I don't like it for the players, or for the fans on either side of the argument. No hate on Gil's Arena in particular, they're just one of many shows talking the same topics (and in more entertaining fashion than most) Not sure how I wound up on this soapbox, but I'll hop down now.

@@Anonymous--Troll Euroleague is the second best basketball league in the world. He won MVP, the equivalent of finals MVP, and a ring in Europe by the age of I believe 18. Keep in mind that, again, this is the second best league on the planet. He was playing with grown men, including some players that were in the NBA or had been at some point. Yet in the draft people were comparing that to the other candidates who had spent a couple months playing 18 year old accountants and real estate agents in college just because they were American.

You got a point but it’s Guys 21-28 years old chiseled lean buff but can barely get on the court. His body type doesn’t match his game and productivity he’s a 1/1 like Patrick Mahomes is built like a 40 year old who works out 3 times a month with a slight gut but he’s the best quarterback in the NFL while Justin fields cam newton and others more lean athletic built can’t do half of what Mahomes can do. Some guys are just gifted man. Now imagine if Luka gets in tip top shape loses 25 lbs and gains muscles and a little more athleticism now he’s going to be a 5 time NBA mvp.

His body allows him to be dominant the way it is. He can just absorb contact and push defenders off of him and create space. The only player that came close to troubling Luka had a closest built like him Lou Dort but Luka is also carrying knee issues too so.
