Alright so UNLV has a 36k seater stadium lets say they seat 30k in a game. The lowest price is 40$ a ticket, highest upwards 400$ for front row. Lower level 250$. So lets low ball and say they averaged 100$ a ticket and only seated 20k for one game against the Oregon Beavers this season. For one game with these hypothetical numbers UNLV made 2 million on ticket sales alone... Let me repeat, with these CONSERVATIVE numbers they made 2 million for one game.. minimum. And NIL deals have only been going on the past few years. The NCAA have been doing this in colleges across the country for decades and havent been paying any of their athletes. Yea, pay em lol

It’s NAME, IMAGE, and LIKENESS Meaning you are free to monetize your own NIL and the school pays you / licenses your NIL to use for their own marketing purposes If you’re a superstar you’ll get millions from a combination of the school, boosters, and endorsement deals Whether Sluka was promised $100 K or not isn’t even relevant because clearly there are other boosters, and companies, associated with other schools willing to pay him $100 K or a lot more So it’s just math to redshirt the rest of this year and make a bag next year… Plus I doubt he is going to be a high draft pick, so next year’s bag may be his last playing football…unless he completely balls out next year

NCAA got off sooo easy & cheap with NIL deals. The didn’t have to come up with collective compensation packages. So all players on the team could share in the profit that’s made off their labor. I think some type of CBA & tier system would’ve worked better. That would mean football & basketball players would have to be reclassified as workers & not student athletes.
