These guys are acting like embiid is young. He only has 5 more seasons of great play left and his body might break down before then. He's not going to be great after 35. I love him as a sixers fan, but his prime ia almost over. I honestly think that the story should be how good of a relationship he has with front office. He genuinely loves philly and wants to stay, and making the most money possible isnt the most important thing. Remember, he said when his first contract was over and he went to negotiations, they offered him the max off rip and he didnt think he earned it yet. He was so tha kful that they had that much belief in him that he vowed to repay theor trust and belief. That contract already set him for life. Waiting 2 years, risking injuries and your stock dropping just to milk them for more just doesnt make sense in his mind. They offered a great extension, over 60 mil a year with a player option so he can choose his fate. Thats a great deal fro. People that know you might injured every year for that contract but still have hope in you. How could he turn it down?

Only in sports do you have to get paid less to succeed. In every other industry, once you've built a proven track record & you're consistently successful bringing in constant revenue at the highest level, you get compensated at the highest level.
