McCants had a point. Edwards didn't say anything REMOTELY disrespectful. It was portrayed as him "deciding" he'd play Kyrie but what he said was "That's my matchup". so it almost certainly was assigned by his coach. He was literally just saying, "This is what's going to happen, we'll see what I can do. It will be fun." He annoys me sometimes, but that was completely harmless and even Kyrie said that he loved Edwards, watched him play in high school, and that's exactly how someone is supposed to feel....that he is looking forward to a challenge. Kyrie beat him because he's quicker and more experienced (the same shit that happens to Luka against all these quick guards he tries to defend). Nothing wrong with Edwards not being able to stop him. Gordon is an excellent defender but Edwards torched him in the series because he was too quick for the big man. That's what McCants was trying to get across. And thats not a knock to any of them, Brandon, Lexie, etc, but to make the basketball analogy; those three are the "core" pieces, the other "players" just have to fit around. Grade A basketball talk
