Gilbert Arenas details how to use LEVERAGE in NBA Free Agency negotiations. When he was transferring teams, he was injured and didn't feel like he had that much leverage. But after speaking with the Golden State Warriors, he got offered a max deal and could bring that back to the Washington Wizards. He also got offered a $5 million dollar house, and a helicopter to move to The Bay. He had to use that leverage to get the best deal possible while being a free agent in the NBA.
Gil’s Arena every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.

This is why I am on the fence about Brunson. These guys need to make their money while they still can. The organizations aren't in the business of giving player-friendly deals so players giving team-friendly deals makes no sense unless you're Ohtani who will still be getting his money, just later. I get that he's getting paid plenty but getting paid plenty and getting paid your worth are two different things.
