I have no words for this stupendous performance. Gil shines here and so does everyone else in the band. A supertight mix. Takes me away from all my problems. Wish I could have been there mon. May Ed Brady and Gil Create in Peace on the other side. One Love mon.

Gil Scott-Heron and his band are the definition of cool. The music almost makes ME feel cool just by hearing it. I came across Gil Scott-Heron's work less than a year ago, through a link to "B Movie", an early eighties work. I'd heard bands do something similar, doing poetry with a jazzy background. I thought that was the coolest thing then (I'm 63). But nothing like GHS. He was probably the inspiration. I remember hearing the words "The Revolution Will not be Televised" way back in the day. I didn't know where it came from. Thought it was just a good slogan.

Hey, you know who he is now, that's what matters. Black in the day when he was really hot, there weren't too many people who were into him because a lot what is poetry about was currents events and politics, and you just didn't find too many young folks who were aware enough to understand him. So, you way ahead my friend!
