But the notion that guys weren’t coming downhill isn’t true. Hand checking and certified rim protectors just made you think twice. It’s not about “old players” or “unathletic” players. @@savcitynineties4845 it works in specific situations. This isn’t a one size fits all type of defense. Kawhi still contests with his front foot hand. It’s just common sense. It’s the hand that’s closer to the ball. This only works when guys are going left to right. If they are coming down hill, you automatically have to swing your back foot around to do this.

In the 80s that defense worked because there were only 1 to 1.5 Offensive players in his era.
