Remember the trainer in Portland who was supposed to take care of Brandon Roy and Greg Oden? I read an article by a kinesiologist who went to examine them (their joint functions and way of moving) and who warned that trainer about their biomechanical imbalances (in their ankles). The trainer would not take it serious and therefore did nothing to adress it. We all saw what happend to these guys.

I remember when Kenyon Martin got hurt and this happened I can relate to it. I was very happy and relieved that he found the right doctor and end up playing more NBA basketball 👍🏾. On the other hand I can relate to it I having a torn patella, chewed up meniscus, repositioning of my heel and extension of my achilles tendon. Doctors as far as I'm concerned with butchers and they basically experimental. Wish I was in a position as you brothers were to avoid better doctors but thank God you all made it and Hall of famers in my eyes. As a basketball player who never got that far but always in my love the game. To God be the glory I've had a total of 20 surgeries major 😇😇🙏.

My brother sent me this video because my dad is currently refusing rehab and is sooooo mean to my mom and he is not a mean person. I truly appreciated them being so honest. I never thought about half the stuff they were talking about. How athletes just disappear after injuries and how they can be mean during recovery. I had to bust out laughing when homie said he would choose his mom over his girl. Why?! Why. His girl I am sure loves him and wants to be there and take care of him. It just shows how sometimes men and women think about situations differently.

Respect, it seems to me worst emotional and physically for professional athletes after listening to their life experiences. I Tore my Achilles years ago as amateur player capable of dunking, took a lot to learn to walk, learn how to drive a car braking and accelerate with opposite foot because since I was in College and got paid to be there no choice but to go to school on one leg couldn’t just take time off, needed to get paid. The mental battle is challenging it’s not just the physical side. The mental battle beats you down after seeing your calf muscle years later, I’m still low key mad at the lack of strength and shape of my calf muscle!

Yep. Team doctors and trainers are not gonna be on your side. They're gonna be on the side of who cut's their check, which is the franchise. Oh, don't worry! Yo can play in 2 months! Yeah... sure

Hyper extended my knee in the 3rd grade during a freak accident WALKING UP THE STAIRS. Tore my ACL, meniscus, PCL and chipped the knee cap. Took a good amount of time just to be able to bend my knee at 90 degrees. Took to running track later on and was good but not as good as I was before the injury. I was injury prone after that. Grade 1 quad tear in 10th grade, pulled groin 3 times, herniated disks in lumbar, etc.

Kenny Smith knees was knocking when he was in the dunk contest. He was just moving much faster so it wasn't as noticeable

Gives you a new appreciation for athletes, they making millions but damn near risking life, quality of life, family time, and any type of mobility or fun after their career just to ball out, imagine making it to the NBA after spending your whole life training for it you do get generational wealth but then only get 5 6 years of balling before injuries accumulated break you down then after that you get 7 8 years of being able to still walk if that now you are chair bound with millions in your 40s and can't even play outside with your kids its more stories like this than not for our fav athletes

Kenyon came to China in 2011 as the first overall pick of the nba draft. During the regular season he jumped over his teammate's shoulder to block a shot and fell on his head. He got up and finished the race. Players these days don't have that spirit❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
