True. The NBA champ Steph Curry is a product of hard work, patience and perseverance. AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. IN FACT, IT'S INSPIRI NG AND ADMIRABLE. So what's wrong if he's not a "generational talent"? He was blessed with "some talent" and he honed and polished that and maximized that. Kinda like what happened to Kobe. Only difference is Kobe created the image of a "an intense, merciless killer" while Steph created an image of a "relaxed, smiling, baby faced assassin".

Would Bird not be generational considering he was barely above the run of the mill athlete in his era. John Wall would have a case to be generational in his way of thinking and that’s no blemish on John Wall respectfully. Would CP3 & Rondo not be generational, how about Nash, Kidd, & Zeke?? I think Gil’s stance in the argument is better understood as gifted physical specimens rather than a classification of generational athletes. A generational talent can be athletes possessing rare intangibles and mental toughness that pushed MJ, Kobe, Curry, Greek Freak, Jokic, Dirk, Luka, Kawhi, Kyrie, Harden, Shai, Ray Allen, and plenty more to some of the best displays of generational skills in their craft. I can’t subscribe to the limitation of generational athletes to outliers of development at a young age such as Zion, Lebron, Yao, Shaq, etc. Plenty of other athletes in different pro sports I would argue have a generational understanding of their craft and are able to process mentally what read to make against a coverage scheme ex Brady, Manning, Brees, etc.
