A few things about this debate 1. Lebron going through the East at arguably it's weakest ever to guarantee a mostly easy playoff push does not compare to the West. You basically watched 2 legit finals match Ups in the west alone while the east was unwatchable. 2. Lebron fans always say "lebron never had help" ... this man literally started the super team era by first off picking 2 additional all-stars and hand selecting his surrounding cast to make perfect teams to his drive, kickout or flop offense. 3. LEBRON doesn't defend well and he's never lock down anybody ever. Go find a clip of a single player saying they're afraid to go into Lebron. Haters gonna say this doesn't matter it's a team game. Momentum and psychology is a HUGE part of winning that is not in the stats and if you think otherwise... gtfo. 4. To Gil's scouting report argument about Kobe was only good cause Shaq was doubled... okay so you're saying teams took out the apparent #1 option and because Kobe then single handedly carried the team through one of the most difficult playoff paths ever, his ring dont count? Brother... you're just proving how good he is even further. I'd say a scout report matters if it works... you might as well say scouting report says stay 5 ft off lebron and don't foul him so he doesn't get 10 fake free throws and watch him brick jumpers... oh wait that was an actual thing 😂 I'd go on but Holy this is such a stupid debate. Go look up all the before and after numbers for everyone on that team and see what they all say about their work ethic and mentality to ball after that Olympics.

I will never forget the very first NBA jersey I wore was Kobe's, and that the year I started to watch NBA full time, Kobe won his 5th ring. He single-handedly pulled an injury-ridden 2013 Lakers team to the 7th seed while rupturing his Achilles. He stayed with one team, even during the times the Lakers were basically the doormat of the league. He has a work ethic and mentality that I think everyone in the NBA should be emulating. nah mate, realistically speaking they are at a similar level, Lebron might actually be slightly above Kobe by now, if we only look at stats alone. I love Kobe and loathe Lebron, but if you look at the body of work and efficiency, Lebron is minimally ahead. Kobe got the iron will and leadership on his side though, and the eye test also shows us that he was by FAR the more skilled player, but that is something you cannot argue as this is not put into stats, which alot of folks seem to think is the holy grail now. So this whole debate is not really fair to any player, as circumstances and schedule are not even playing a role either. Heck we are not even comparing stats between eras correctly and adjusted to average points scored per contest leaguewide. people still keep arguing about guys in the 90s scoring 30 ppg compared to ppl who score 30 ppg now and acting they are the same thing...
