We have an incredible episode this week featuring the one and only Gilbert Arenas (host No Chil by Fubo Sports). This is an awesome one and we're psyched to share it. First up, JJ and Tommy discuss Jimmy Butler and The Miami Heat vs. Jayson Tatum and The Boston Celtics and if Boston has a shot at making history. Then we welcome in Gilbert Arenas for a fun interview with topics including: What he enjoys about doing media in his post-career, debating the future of The NBA and whether the league has a LeBron / Steph problem and if Nikola Jokic winning The Finals can make him more "marketable", diving into the recent influx of NBA coach firings and why GMs have made coaches the scapegoat, Gilbert reflects on playing with JJ Redick in Orlando and laughing about the grueling Stan Van Gundy practices, why Gilbert has issues with Coach K and The Olympics and the real reason he stepped away after beating a team with LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and more, what he regrets about his own career in Washington, advice to Ja Morant (The Memphis Grizzlies) and much. more.
Subscribe to The Old Man and The Three podcast w/ JJ Redick (ESPN / First Take) and Tommy Alter KZbin channel today for more NBA analysis, player interviews and highlights.
And be sure to check out this week's episode of The Old Man and The Three Things EXCLUSIVELY on Amazon Music. www.amazon.com/OM3_us_hfd_wiaa...

Cause luka's just going to keep putting up insane stats, he's young, tough shot maker, can make the highlight reel, have insanely high scoring games. Nothing, but Love JJ, but when you say you’re not a marketing expert I have to agree completely my man. Marketers can’t force products that consumers don’t want. They find insights to uncover consumer behavior and highlight the products that meet those consumer needs. ESPN and other media companies are businesses dependent upon consumer views. Ratings will drop completely if they don’t lead with Lakers, Knicks, Lebron, Steph, and those alike.

Tommy is one of the reasons this show has lasted so long. I’ve been watching this pod since day one, and I can say tommy brings a needed perspective to the convo.

What would it take for the NBA to go international? Get a London, Paris, Tokyo team?

i saw mr. "g" arenas in shanghai airport when he was playing there. i wanted to ask him for his autograph or a picture but he was with his family and his kids so i didn't want to bother him. plus, i saw how nice and well behaved his kids were being, so it was like, why would i want to disturb someone, to ask for something for myself, like a picture or a signed shirt, which would be nice, but, honestly, if i did that, then i would've also missed out, or worse, spoiled, the really nice moment of getting to see a cool nba player with his family enjoying just a normal ordinary life of waiting to get through security through the shanghai airport. (i dun get people these days, always asking for things, rather than observing more. we ruining nice things for each other)

The problem for the NBA is also that they move mountains to promote their American stars, but international ones don't get the same love. They expected Zion and Ja to be the next ones but one prefers Sundays instead of getting in shape and the other is practicing different type of shooting

You should interview Adam Silver on selling the league. He is pushing space equality and small market teams buying good players.

Feels like Gil is just hating on the Nuggets and every single small market team. Guess we are supposed to wait a league with only like.....4 teams?
