Waldner was not at all

Did you see him ace samsonov in wttc 97 final or hit in a winner in olympics 2004 semis White looking in the other direktion. Waldner always played to entertain and that sometimes cost him matches.

Thanks for uploading this tournament. I have 96 and 97 on VHS (yep 📼) but I've been looking for 98 for years.

Its great to see that players were chill in nonimportant tournaments back in the days. And they were serving straight after the point has ended and not waiting 100 yeras like the players today Waldner is the GOAT because he only took important tournaments seriously which earned him many important titles. Players today hyperfocus on every irrelevant tournament

That's true.I think it was Primorac who trained with the same intensity all year round which is why he had good runs at the World Cup but always came short at the WTTC/Olympics. Waldner would train intensely 4 to 5 months before the majors(Olympics,WTTC,European Championship) and treat the smaller tournaments as training ground for his technique/tactics. Around the mid-90's he overhauled his game especially the spin-no spin serve and third ball attack.
