Gilbert was one of the funniest comedians I’ve ever seen and I was fortunate enough to get to meet him and talk to him afterward. He was a class act and really loves and appreciated his fans. Adam is like this too, I got to meet him last year in a similar fashion. I was so sad to hear the news about Gilbert. My heart goes out to his family, especially his kids. I had tickets to see him at Magooby’s in Baltimore and really wanted my fiancée to see him and share the experience with her. Thank you for putting this tribute together!

Agreed. It’s turns out his real shtick was to aggressively find the pain we were feeling and immediately and without hesitation making fun of it. Making fun of our collective pain to help us deal with it. He was our grandfather ripping the bandaid off and letting the fresh air get to our injuries so they’d scab over and heal.
