Unfortunately, a commercial flop when released as a single in late summer of 1975 which is indeed unfortunate because its a stellar song, a unique song in the Gilbert OSullivans 70s songbook..a big ballad with a rousing brass and vocal chorus, passionate singing and very much in the Fats Domino tradition. It SHOULD have been at least a Top 20 hit.

Nice, a bit unfortunate to get the weird backdrop. This was Gilberts longest single and was always cut back for TV, as this was. 5:16 in the UK ZXDR 58025, Belgium had the ZXDR 58256 3:40 There is an even slower version on an LP Greatest Hits 3:20
