I'm 62 and also cry every time. The couplet that floors me: "When I'm drinking my Bonaparte Shandy, eating more than enough apple pies; will I glance at my screen and see real human beings, starve to death right in front of my eyes?" 14 years before 'Live Aid'!

So Good - Best Song Ever - Heard this song from my Dad, he was playin it one night downstairs I was about 12 years young and I had to go and listen to it on the stairs. Dad did not even know I was there. Cool Time. Sang it to him like about 10 years later and it blew his mind. I knew all the words, melody etc. He was rapped as I was for Him... Gilbert You Are Genius. What about the song "Too Much Attention" are you kidding me. Fantastic Song. Thank You Mr Sullivan for your Genius Music.

This song always makes me think of the 'old' traditional England.

Traditional Ireland. He is Irish from Waterford.
@Blujonny11 Жыл бұрын
@@kencurran8853 Yes, this music can never remind one of traditional England. That certainly would be a definite 'faux pas.'

What evokes emotionally responses in this song is not only the vocal melody and delivery but the string and wind arrangement - simply perfect.

Brilliant classic, from a true and proper singer-songwriter. Haunting earworm with meaningful lyrics. Still find myself whistling this beautiful melody 50 years on. Can't help singing along when it pops out of the radio here and there, or hear a cover. Tom Jones did a great job with it once apon a time. But (Ray) Mr O'sulivans actual name is the original and best. His other many many hits are also worth celebrating. He's up there with the best piano-men in the business. Either as a songsmith, lyricist or player, from Nat King Cole, and Barry White to Jules Holland, Manillow to Billy Joel... he's written some gems.Can't wait to see him live when things improve. Thanks Ray. Tom Keegan
