They both lost an arm, though gildarts lost more than just his arm, They are both really carefree and sometimes careless, and they are both very strong! (They also both have a daughter but Uta only appeared recently so that isn't viable info in this situation)

Guildarts didnt recognise Mira because she had a much darker and rebellious aesthetic before he left. And then with Lisanna's death, Mira adopted a more ''always smile through the pain'' attitude and became the epitome of sotf, heartwarming kindness. Also, Guildarts lost his leg, his insides AND his arm while fighting the dragon. ;_;

That is true. I really like the meme, specially because they both have a similar vibe and presence in their respective stories and both are characters I really love for similar reasons, but it's frustrating to see some people blaming Mashima for "coping Shanks" when he never did. They are similar characters though, regardless of the design, so it makes sense that the anime staff would make him look like Shanks, and I'm thankful they did since the memes born from it are great. By the way, the reason was probably to capitalize on One Piece's popularity and bring One Piece fans to Fairy Tail as a result of the comparison between Shanks and Gildarts.

Why do you assume that Natsu's parents abondoned him? Considering the backstory of the majority of Fairy Tail members, they probably died in some way or the other and then Igneel found the abondoned baby and decided to raise it... until 7.7.X777 and whatever happened that day. Porlyuscia is the misantropic herbalist they brought Makarov to when the Phantom Lord guild dissipated his mana and who visited the guild when he had the heart attack and who gave Erza her artifical eye.

I think mirajane probably is alot stronger than the others in terms of abilities - however the trauma she had has crippled her, and she holds back.

It is agreed on Mystogan third that probably Spoiler ... if he had not left Fairy Tail he would have perhaps passed Laxus one day or at least remained even. Erza fourth is perfect. Mira last only because due to Lisanna's trauma she hasn't used magic for 3 years otherwise she would probably be at Erza's level if not perhaps stronger.

Apparently, in the manga Gildarts had a completely different hair style and hair color than shanks.The anime's art style only made it look similar to shanks. Also by the end of Fairy Tail, Gildarts looks completely different.

By the end they were just more faithful to the manga, which is why he doesn't look like Shanks anymore. Also, I wouldn't say he was completely different in the manga, his hairstyle was mostly the same. Look up an image in Google, it's still mostly the same design he has in the anime, it just doesn't look like Shanks. The biggest difference is probably his face actually, manga Gildarts has sharper features, specially his jawline.

You can always looking up the characters ages from beginning to end of the anime. If I’m not wrong between the first and last episode theres 8 or so years. So between each adventure you can expect at least a month if not more to have passed usually.

I'm not 100% on this But they made the manga fairytale. Turn it into the anime Then the artist went made other things for while. But people love fairytale so much that they came back and continue the story With a whole new set a manga and that's the 100 Year quest Which I hope will be made into a anime series soon. There's also talk about making a whole set of books that feature the kids of the fairytale characters because theirs a lot of couples that end up together In fairy tale And I really hope they do that is that would be awesome!

Plus being a power scaler doesn't mean you can say some statement about natsu vs gildarts or erza or laxus disregarding the shown facts written and stated by the author himself. It's simple logic. Direct fighting and clear implications>feats>subtle implications and feats under the influence of power of friendship or talk no jutsu or just plain throwing the win at the protagonist. Also don't count power ups that aren't his. Ignia flames and E.N.D are one time power ups and he only keeps a touch of caracter from those flames to shape his own fire like aldoron stated. If that was the case natsu would laxus lvl from tenroujima arc and acno lvl from the final szn. It's unique to this story that he doesn't keep power ups but a slight caracter from them to keep the villains relevant. Just imagine natsu with etherion plus flame of rebuke plus ldfm plus atlas flame mode plus dragon force plus fire dragon king mode(the igneel final power not the regular mode) plus seven flames dragon plus ignia flames and the flame of emotion boost. He would be up there with goku

@5:00 No, really, Gildarts is supposed to resemble Shanks. Take this with a grain of salt since I don't feel like doing a search for the source, but anime Gildarts was made a red-head to make him look even more like Shanks from One Piece. IIRC, Gildarts was originally intended to be blond. Oh, and if it wasn't obvious, Shanks has been a much loved character in One Piece since Chapter 1 of the One Piece manga. So... yeah, it doesn't stretch credibility to intentionally ape Shanks' look.
