Thank you for a good clear demonsttation of different ways to use gilding flakes. I find that by decanting the gilding flakes into a bigger container such as an old ice cream container it makes the flakes easier to work with.

Thank you, for showing me how to use the gilding flakes. I didn’t really know how to use them in my card making. I’m still new to card making

Very lovely cards. I love the gilding flakes, especially in the random fashion. It adds so much to otherwise simple, yet beautiful, cards.

Both cards are so beautiful, but I REALLY love the one with the pine branch! I never thought of using gilding flakes in a more random, distressed fashion like that. Another adhesive product you can use, especially if you don't need/want any dimension, is leafing glue. I got a bottle at Hobby Lobby in their crafts section, with their metal leafing supplies. It wasn't that expensive with their coupon, either. It's basically the same thing as what you used, but it is more liquid, so no dimension like you get with a paste. I generally have used a makeup wedge applicator thing to apply it, since it does dry pretty quickly. That way I'm sure not to ruin a paintbrush. I'm not sure if it ever gets totally dry, or just tacky, since I never waited really that long before applying foil or gilding flakes. Anyway, just figured I'd throw that out there. Thanks so much for sharing these projects, Lindsay! Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)

Beautiful cards! Question for you - can you use that ‘tacky when dry’ medium with foil through a laminator?
@CraftingWhileCaffeinated5 жыл бұрын
You could, but I would turn off the heat. You could also send it through a die cutting machine. That would give a good amount of pressure for the Foil to adhere!
