Another simple shave with a vintage Gillette. You proved too that razor blades with proper care don't age either. Cheers to you and Mrs. H.

Good evening Paul! Nice shave. I have those vintage Gillette Platinum (made in England) blades, as in a lot of them...maybe hundreds. They are very good blades indeed. You can get about 10 quality shaves from each, some individual blades go further if you push them. I love your soap locker, I think Scott intends for user to place all the soap from his containers into the locker...user's choice I suppose. Take care.

Hi Todd, and many thanks, always enjoy these vintage blades, these felt so good too, will hopefully get a good number of shaves from this blade, like the British Wilkinson Swords, hope you are keeping well, all the best Todd 🙂

Hey Paul! Good trick to prevent soap scum...use daily shower cleaner after rinsing from use. Let it be for a few minutes, then rinse off and dry with micro fiber towel. It works beautifully!! It won't harm the finish on your razors due to the fact it is meant to clean the metal fixtures in your shower! Thanks for reviewing the vintage gear! Have a great week! Jim

Nice shave . I was in Boots chemist , a lady was looking at cartridge razor blades for her husband. I pointed out to her that the King C Gillette razor was on sale for £10.00. That it would be better for his skin and the blades a fraction the price. With the economy in Britain as it is, the saving would be a blessing. I hope I did her a favour. He would need to check out a few youtube videos and learn how to use a De razor. Maybe more men and women will turn to the art of shaving with a de razor.

Hi Paul, hope all is well. I have a question when you have time. I have a few synthetic brushes, and with Christmas coming up I'm thinking about a looking for a badger brush. Any recommendations on which one's to consider? Thanks
@PaulHFilms2 жыл бұрын
I have several badger brushes, and all work very well to be fair, but if I can recommend, Omega, for one brand, as it was the first decent badger brush I bought, I can't remember it's number now, but it has a dark red resin handle, but that recommendation is from personal use of course, there are many brushes out there these days, Kent and Simpson are very good British brushes, but you can also get good quality from Yaqi or DSCosmetic at a fraction of the cost, hope this helps you, and good luck 🙂

Hi Paul 🙂 I don't comment on videos as much as I use to because I mostly watch KZbin on my smart TV now. I wanted to tell you that I miss your shavette shaves and request that you do another one. I also want to tell you something which I hope that you will pass along. A week or so ago while I was screwing the cap back onto my tube of PALMOLIVE SHAVE CREAM it broke. I used only it for a few shaves after that thinking that I had to hurry up and use it up. Then one night it hit me. I wonder if the cap from a toothpaste tube would fit it? I tried it and it did. My tube of PALMOLIVE SHAVE CREAM now has a Colgate Toothpaste cap on it. Could you do a shavette shave using a tube of PALMOLIVE SHAVE CREAM? When I shave I do the first pass with my shavette then the second pass with a DE razor.
@pickinduck2 жыл бұрын
Paul, you said you read all comments. Well, what about the above one? I checked and it doesn't look like it's hidden. To add to the above post. It would be a good idea to be proactive and save a toothpaste cap from an empty tube that you are discarding in case this happens to you. If you would like to use my name it is Donald McCullough.

Good morning Paul. Great shave. I sometimes think a thinner lather, even though it doesn't look as luxurious can work better as a lubricant (water is after all a great lubricant). I got a 100 pack of personna blues, so i might one of those this evening with my rockwell 6s or the yaqi final cut. I shave my head too so I'll use the leaf for that with some pre-split permasharps. Some proraso pre shave cream and tobs rose shaving cream.P.S I'm starting a campaign to bring back the absence from work routine! Like this comment to get it back!!!
@PaulHFilms2 жыл бұрын
Thanks David, and hope the shaves are going great 🙂 the old work routine...lol....I must remember to do that in some of the videos ;-)
The vintage blades, in my experience, were made to last just as the razors. Fwiw, I use a small ultrasonic cleaner to clean the inside of my tto vintage razors. Only requires a drop or two of dishwashing liquid. Cannot go wrong with any of the Captains Choice products, right up there with Stirling imo.

I quite agree, and nice idea with the ultrasonic cleaner , always great results fair play with Captain's Choice products, I like Stirling too, enjoy there British Leather 🙂

Cat should learn to control the scratching behaviors. Dogs can play together as puppies and then learn about how to control their biting and holding with the mouths, and carefully guided instruction from humans helps them learn to control their jumping and scratching. Maybe if your cat could play with another cat, could learn to control the scratching? Maybe you can find a cat behaviorist.
@PaulHFilms2 жыл бұрын
We have another cat, but they never scratch each other, both are not aggressive scratching either, it is a play thing, cats naturally scratch, jump etc, so I would never involve in stopping there natural behaviour. Scratch posts are good, I play with her, she has claws, so I get scratched, that is my own fault, love them to bits, many thanks .🙂
