The old shaving scents are the best. I've noticed the new versions usually get the overall scent profile right, but there's something more hollow about them, and the biggest difference between old and new Brut is similar to the difference between old and new Old Spice or Aqua Velva. Old formulations had more natural smelling musks and aldehydes that gave the fragrances more character and elevated the scent. I still love the modern Brut, but I cherish every use of my vintage EDC splash.

These shaves are the best. To see you get a flashback of the past was great. I’ve notice over the years that scents take you back to the past. I am the sane way and it’s a big reason I’m in the hobby. I can smell something and it bring me back 40 years to something I haven’t thought of since. The brain is amazing that way.

Hi Paul! First, Gillette made the Slim Twist (in multiple color choices for the handle). That one was replaced by the Super Slim Twist (the one you just used, here).

Great shave. Every time I see a Brute shave reminds me of my Navy days, a BIC disposable razor, Gillette foamy shave cream in a can followed by Brute after shave. I still love Brute but I have upgraded my razor 💈⚓️

Nicely done Paul💈💈 Nothing like an "original" product used to bring back memories, the newer scents are missing the "creaminess" they once had. Ingredient regulations are most likely the culprit I'm guessing. Anyways a beautiful shower of color, thanks Mrs H. Mrs.H does it again, beautiful mother pleasing arrangement! Good find that vintage NOS Slim Twist. Brut is a great classic scent but I do find it can be a bit overpowering, I do have some modern Brut shaving Gel & splash. Have a great day Paul👍🤠

That put a great memory in my mind when you said Levi 501 jeans and Levi jacket with white socks 😂 😂 and going out with Brut faberge splashed on every Bit of skin and on the Livi jacket I thought I was the dogs dangles 😂 😂 Thanks for the memories Hope you have a great week Paul

My SOTD King C Gillette DE razor and King C blade. Cella shaving soap the cherry (which is my new favorite soap it is amazing) Jequil Corenvo synthetic brush. Nivea sensitive after shave cream. MOTD fried chipped ham bbq on Hawaiian roles and green beans

Greetings and Salutations Paul and all! Thanks for the wonderful morning shave. I don't own any Brut things, but I remember my grandfather using it. My shave today was a very nice one. I used the newly acquired Master Soap Creations Bloom Shave Soap from Pasteur Pharmacy in New York (thanks Dad). It lives up to the name with the floral scent, but not like some crazy old lady perfume. More like walking by wild flowers in the forest. I broke out the Merkur 16C and a Treet Black Beauty blade. Pretty close shave. I'm not into aggressive razors and this is on the border for me. I used the Bloom aftershave too. Great scent. Happy Shaves and Peace to all!

Wonderful shave. I love the old creams and soaps. Nothing wrong with the wonderful artisan things out. But i miss the old ones. Long before i got into de shaving, i always used soaps in a mug. Never used canned shave creams like barbasol. I miss ones like burma shave, and colgate. I still use after shaves like brut, old spice, or aqua velva the most. You cant beat the classics. Good morning Paul great shave, I love it! And thanks to Mrs. Humphrey for the nice flowers. I have a question about the Super Slim Twist that you use today. How they are different to my Slim Twist grom 1983. For me the head looks the same. But I can't that see in Live. I mean that the old stuff was better. But probably because they were allowed to use ingredients that are no longer allowed today. The meal today. Roast chicken with fried potatoes without salad only pickled peppers and hot peppers for me. Thanks for the great video. And yes I use for my shave Video my Slim Twist. That's crazy or? Paul, I would also say the movies made today don't compare to yesteryears, either. No originality, as any new re!ease worth watching these days seems to be a continuation or rehash of a classic. Anyway, to anyone who has yet too try a vintage Gillette razor, you owe it to yourself to get one imho. They're all good in my e,perience.
