Hi Chris. That was a very interesting video, thank you. I was surprised at how much difference there was to the razor after been in the sonic cleaner! Beautiful job, as always. All the best.

Hey Chris, great video and awesome job 👍 It is another good example on how important the preparation before the replating is. I‘m always very pleased with your work.

Hey Dan! Hope you are doing well. We are finding bits of gold every weekend. Wish they were bigger. Alot of small stuff in southern Arizona last 2 years. Going back to gold Basin in a regular basis from now on.

Hey Chris that's great to hear you guys are doing well, and finding gold still! I haven't had much time in last couple years to concentrate on gold prospecting. Me and my girlfriend had a baby in the late summer of 2020. His name is Ezra, and he is a fantastic little boy! As of right now we are planning on moving to Nevada probably late summer. I'm sick of the winters up here, and I want to get back to gold prospecting on a more serious level. I finally bought my first gold monster. I haven't used it yet but I'm excited. I tried texting you on the last phone number I had for you but it must not be the same? Anyway I'm really hoping to still meet up with you guys again to look for gold!

Dab, I switched numbers and phones, lost yours too. Here it is 3072173049. Definitely let's find some gold. The GSSN Gold Searchers of Southern Nevada out of Vegas had good claims.

Why don't you remove the first plating, then the copper goes on the brass, and only then the nickel plating?
@BackRoadsGold2 жыл бұрын
I use a technique given to me years ago by one of the biggest suppliers of plating chemicals in the US. On parts that are mirror polished, the original plating is removed. But on handles and places where there is knurling and detail, it is not needed. Copper adds a lot of thickness that is not needed. Nickel can go directly on brass, copper, or original nickel, no problem. 8000 razors later, there are no problems others may have different techniques, this is mine.

Also, original Gillette razors were not brass plated prior to nickel. Most handles are already made of copper, why plate it?

@@BackRoadsGoldPossibly better longevity since copper may help with plating and cohesion

Basically opposite. Through plating 10,000 + Gillettes, the worst I have seen that the nickel flaked off were pre plated with copper.
