I’m so glad you liked it! I knew you would love David’s 1935 Epiphone Olympic archtop guitar. And the harmonies. I wouldn’t call this country. I would call this Americana or Old Time (but a contemporary song in the style of old time). Gillian and David are long time partners, as you can tell by the amazing harmonies. The passion in their playing just blows my mind. And they are AMAZING live! Jeremy, I thought you’d love it, which is why I suggested it! ❤️🎶

I absolutely loved it! Thank you so much! This is just amazing stuff. It doesn’t feel “country” to me. This is pure musicianship. Outstanding!! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽

David Rawlings and Gillian were born to play together. Dave's own band Dave Rawlings Machine is outstanding. Rebecca, Dave said he found that guitar in a friends workshop covered in sawdust and he just happened to looking for an arch top. I think the Epiphone Olympic was the cheapest guitar Epiphone produced at the time and Dave brings everything out of it. Have you seen them do The Way It Will Be performed in that diner? Holy.

I love listening to David Rawlins. He's so good weaving unexpected dissonance that makes my ear awed and expectant, just waiting impatiently for him to frantically muscle that guitar toward resolution. It's like that in every song. Dude just has a way of dreaming up a harmony i never knew existed, and makes me wonder what he could do to songs by other artists. I mean those who lack the skill or ear to imagine what the song might sound like with a little Dave Rawlins creative treatment. Perhaps he goes overboard at times, but i still enjoy his creativity.

Most murder ballads in Appalachia are about a poor little woman being killed, but Gillian doesn’t write it that way. These two are amazing. Dave tears it up on the guitar; he is a fantastic guitarist. Their voices harmonize perfectly. I love these two, and this is one of my favorites by them. Caleb Mayer got his just desserts. Yes!! Call it Americana, folk, bluegrass, whatever. It’s amazing.

Excellent guitar playing and storytelling! Doesn't matter the genre if they both blend together well. Would have loved to see The Steep Canyon Rangers with Steve Martin and Edie Brickell...but I saw them without either a couple of years ago, one of the greatest concerts I have seen. 🙂

Hey Jake, Jillian here. I'm late on the weekly email, sorry!! We've been on the road and the email will come out shortly. Your video will come out the first week of January. Just curious, do you receive an "order confirmation" email once you submit the song request? Thanks for double checking! ❤️,🥷🏻
