The Orange Pedal Baby she is using is actually a 100 watt power amp, she is sending a left and right signal to the Front of House engineer and an additional mono signal to the Pedal Baby so she can have a live amp on stage in addition to the feed in her In Ears. They also mic the live (Mesa) cabinet so it gives the soundman three different signals to mix. And yes you can route a harmonizer to just one side if you want to, but since she is just using a single cab onstage and since the Pedal Baby is a mono amp, she is just mixing the harmonizer in with the straight sound. I am using Avery similar setup with a Fractal instead of a Kemper and am also using a Pedal Baby, and it works awesome. I hope this helps.
@musikbyjh11 ай бұрын
Awesome! Thank you so much for this comment. Fractals are awesome as well. I never had the chance to own either, but if I ended up perusing actually playing music for a living, I def would have gotten either a Kemper or a Fractal. I was a big Line 6 user back in the day, just for all the effects…but I didn’t like my distortion until I got the Bogner. But these fractals and kempers are just phenomenal at both the effects AND the distortions! Hell yeah. And that’s awesome to know about routing the harmonized to different cabs. That could make for some fun and interesting setups! Thanks again for the comment and the info! Cheers! 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽

In a previous rig rundown a couple years back Dani mentioned she sends two channels to the house speakers that she can individually control. The only thing I remember specifically was she would add a slight delay to one channel for a fuller sound but I'm pretty sure other effects are customizable per channel.

I think you got it right, but I believe that was through her previous Line-6 pedalboard. Things may be different with the Kenner.

Yeah Kempers have lots of flexibility, she runs 2 outs to foh with all the normal effects plus one has a touch of delay which gives it a big sound and she runs one to the orange pedal baby power amp ( she mixed up poweramp and preamp ) and that’s so she can feel the amp onstage , it’s also miked and can be mixed into the foh if needed , she has also done shows without a amp onstage just using in ear monitors because of time and travel restrictions but her and Ale like the feel of amps onstage , she travels real light with just the 3 guitars and the Kemper and the Mesa cab power amp setup , she is a orange artist but orange cabs weigh 40 pounds more than Mesa and Marshall and that’s why people don’t tour with orange cabs much , added weight adds up in shipping transportation fees and roadies backs , cab weighs more than she does

She IS sending all the effects from the pedalboard to the cab on stage. She is using basically a power amp just to well..power the cab but no amp sound because those come from the pedal. The routing options you have on these Kempers (and any other high end modern pedalboards for that matter) are insane, she is sending a stereo output to front of house that has two different settings for L&R including the pitch shifter and a millisecond delay so it sounds like there are two guitars on stage, that same output I assume is feed into a mixer that programs everyone’s in ear monitoring. Additionally she sends an output to the amp on stage just to feel the rumble behind her on top of the mix she gets through the in ears. Finally there’s also the backing tracks that mostly include keyboard and other instruments that are not on stage but sometimes the also have other guitar parts that are different from what she would be playing at the moment, very low in volume but they are there. This is a popular setup that most people using multi effects are running.

You can split the signal outputs and run them thru two separate amps. It can be made to sound almost like two guitars, especially if you put a slight millisecond delay between them. I used to play a 1975 Rickenbacker 4001 bass which was wired in stereo ran thru a split board with dual amps. It fattened up the sound of our 3 piece. People don’t realize how hard these ladies work to get that sound that we love. All you hear is “talent”, from their fans and they are talented, but talent just makes you sound good. It takes hard work and smarts to sound great.

@bernardoaguilargt376311 ай бұрын
14:35 yup, the Kemper sends “wet” signal to both the FOH (balanced stereo output) and the stage preamp and cab (TRS cables), she explained that in some video before. As a guitarist myself wouldn’t find much use in having a great preamp and cab onstage with the ”dry” signal: what you wanna feel onstage is the “wet” signal.
@reactionsaccount395511 ай бұрын
Matt Bellamy of Muse is one of the owners of Manson Guitarworks, which is why he was able to have this custom color painted specifically for Dany. Also in the video when talking about her picks, she says that they are Jazz picks, but I am pretty sure that she meant to say Bass picks, as in past rig rundown videos that's what she said. Dany used to have a Line 6 Helix pedal board and in an old rig rundown, she showed that she splits the line out into left and right channel with a small delays in one of the channel to make her guitar sound bigger, I assume she does the same with the Kemper. She has 2 other PRS, but just custom 24, but I have not seen her use them much since she received both the Gibson Explorer from Lzzy and the Manson ONYX 6 from Matt. In the video she switches the songs manually, but I am pretty sure that Pau said that she controls the songs on the Kemper from her laptop and switches songs using a MIDI pedal. In their recent Mexico tour, they filled the Pepsi Center which is an 8000+ seat arena and when they opened for Muse in Mexico and the UK, they played in stadiums.
@awadoma270211 ай бұрын
Pau has nothing to do with her pedal board, Dany switches the songs herself manually.. For a few years before covid they used to switch songs using the laptop but not anymore. She has at least 4 PRS's Red/Blue/Black/HoneyBrown... The Red and Blue she uses almost every show, the black once in a while and the honeybrown she keeps at home.

@reactionsaccount395511 ай бұрын
@@tay13666 You may be right, but that would not be the reason, as when she presses her left MIDI pedal, it switches to the next song in Ableton and it would be very easy to make the pedal board do the same, without Pau needing to do anything extra.

She got into much greater detail in an earlier gear rundown from TW Cave when she was using the Helix Line 6. I obviously would assume the specific details are different between the two but they may share some general principles? It’s much more detailed on the signal chain part. I believe Dany still has 2 Rick Toone guitars that were outright purchased by the band according to Rick’s website. I don’t know if specific details have ever been discussed about her endorsement with PRS about the custody of them but I’d like to believe they are Dany’s guitars. She hasn’t seemed to be using the Gibson much lately during live performances but that may be more of a logistics thing. She used the Manson some in their South American shows and I believe some in the pro shot shows recently in Mexico but it looks like they were traveling light when they finished out the year because I watched 2 of their last shows in December and Dany only played her 2 PRS’s.

She also has the FOH feed going to the monitor mix and in ear. I think they are using Allen & Heath D-Live for monitors (& possibly FOH), since I saw what I believe to be an A&H DM32 32-input MixRack on stage near the kit. I know for sure for the Teatro show they were using and A&H I-Live for FOH, and I think currently they went with the D-Live given the MixRack I saw.
