Acrylic pouring: Fluid art
My pouring medium used for my current work is a pre mix of 70% “Mont marte clear craft glue and 30% warm water, (most pva glues can be made up with same ratios to make a pouring medium), I add my pouring medium to my paint slowly until I achieve the consistency of pouring cream, approximately 50/50 more pm if needed.
My paint brands mostly used are the Mont marte studio acrylics, dimensions, or pouring paints, Boom Gel stain.
When iv mixed my paints I add 2-4 drops maximum of Helmar silicone, also Australian made, I stir in well.
I always like to mix up my paints and add silicone the day before I’m going to paint, and cover with a damp cloth, as I have found I have much better results.

Hi 👋 Not sure why this particular piece made me so emotional whilst creating it. I think now is the time for us all to reflect on what brings our hearts true joy and peace, we all need calm and patience in these trying time I believe. I for one will make changes to my life and do what brings me joy, love and happiness and certainly not “SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF” I’m hopefully helping some of you get through these trying times as I know I’m helping myself by creating art good or bad 🤦‍♀️ daily as my coping mechanism. I’m truly grateful to you all for watching and subscribing to my channel on this my most fore filling art journey of love and joy. Take care peeps, we will all be ok 👍🏼

Gilly thank you for today, thank you for yesterday and for all the tomorrow’s. Because of you i can unwind into a most amazing and peacefully relaxing night. I leave my stresses outside my art room door. My youngest son has Asperger’s syndrome and he demands a lot of my time, he will relax with me as I paint. My sister always says I should get the most patients award. I feel it’s who I am I’ve always been patient with everyone. And he is amazing. It’s just stressful sometimes and you you my love help me with that and I will always be grateful to you for your love of what you do for us.thank you.(sorry if I’m sounding silly)❤️

Marlene Rodriguez I am almost 70. It is nice to know I’m not the only ‘over 50’ person here. This painting is so vibrant! It reminds me of the flat bedsheet I tie-dyed, batiked and then hung on the wall above my desk in my college dorm room! I had forgotten about that. So much studying as an engineering major but so much other stuff going on.

It's really outstanding! A few years ago I started seeing pour painting on the net and so I began to look at the videos that were on KZbin. I thought yours were the best. You inspired me to make 10 or 15 of them. Pour paintings reminded me of the ones I made in collage. We did not have Flotrol in those days so the colors were not as intense and the cells had to be made individually. I trashed all of my pour paintings except two. Two of mine were good thanks to you and your good instruction videos and even though I will not do any more pour painting, I have started to do abstract art again and have no plans to go back to realism, which I did for many years. Thanks!

Gilly, this is so beautiful! I love it so much!!! I can see, that you add silicone to your paints. I have only started doing the pouring technique recently and I have tried using hair serum instead of the silicone, only 1 or 2 tiny drops, and it gives lovely results in terms of the cells. How do you clean the painting from the silicone oil before you varnish it? If you varnish it indeed??? I have bought matt spray varnish to try))))😉 Thank you so much for the joy you give!!!🤗😇😘

Hi Gilly, can cells be moved to another substrate? e.g. is it possible to place a stencil on a paint pour that has cells and then place stencil onto a gel plate or direct to fabric? Or does movement destroy the cells. I have not done a paint pour but would like to know if cell transfer is possible so I can add another technique to printing fabric

Remember to purchase the wonderful product called Floetrol. In a well-known home improvement store, my friend accidentally purchased a chimney cleaning product called Flametrol. Remind me of birds of paradise in a tropical jungle with fireflies. Love it love it. It's so hard at the minute and so glad you are giving not just us, but yourself joy in what you do. Sometimes we take not just others but ourselves for granted. Think you have just realised how good you are and how much you love what you do. That was a piece of magic!! The colours are amazing!! I'm crazy for those balloon rolls They look like bird tails. But that's me a huge wildlife buff. I could see parot wings too. Golly. Thank you for the talk as much as the sharing of your talent. I was down when I saw this. A friend asked me for a piece with certain colors and I could see that she didn't like it. I prayed that I wouldn't take it personally and then here you are saying what I needed to hear. So again, thank you! 🙏

I hope after a year, since you uploaded this video, you have found your calm and your peace!🙏🥰🤗 I'm still looking for mine.😏LOL I still, have never poured. I've only just discovered this type of art in the last 6 months. *Can I just use glue as the pouring medium?* I'd like to think all I need is some Elmer's Glue and the Acrylic paints 🎨 and some canvas? Can I do that? I really am scared! 😱 I am afraid of buying more than I really need. (I work retail, so not a big paycheck) I don't want to make anything fancy, just some BRIGHT colors and some FUN! Thank you for sharing your art with the world! Love, Pinky💜 Northern California USA😬

I am really excited. I practice now for a few weeks. Not yet fond the right technic, maybe I use the wrong pouring medium? But I try again, it would be succesfull someday, I know. Greetings from Germany.

Gilly hi. It's 8 pm here in the suburb of Los Angeles California. I am super new to acrylic pouring. This video and the emotions you exhibited in it during the time you made it, hit me like a punch in the gut now 3 years later. We made it out of Covid, but world's problems continue. I want to thank you for being you ❤. Now ... I am just going to have to give this a try tonight. I probably won't get to sleep much. But it will make me feel good I am sure. 😅😊😂🎉

I love what you do and I copy you a lot. I would like to know, and maybe you've said it before, do you mix your swipe color (in this instance black) just like the other colors with the same ratio of PM and Fluetrol + silicone oil?
