Paris actually never falls for Francine's story in that scene, she sees right through it immediately and knows that Francine probably was entrapping Rory with that photo . Paris is actually upset that Rory would have lied to her at all and it made her question her trust for her.

I totally agree with all this, but what got to Paris the most is how Rory spilled the beans on her boyfriend Jamie etc. Rory had promised Paris never to tell anyone about him until Paris herself said it was okey. So even tho Rory says in the bathroom scene that “if” Paris has a boyfriend, her hearing that Rory told Francine about Jamie to begin with was her biggest issue.. She even says so herself at some point in that season.

Francine's appearance in A Year in the Life might be my favorite former character cameo in the whole thing. She's grown up and trying to be an adult and just walks away when she realizes that Paris is still crazy. (But still has a great witty comment on her way out)

​@@iivin4233Throwing a punch when 3 people corner you in the bathroom and don't start violence themselves would be pretty dumb, ngl. I did martial arts throughout high school, so I learned how to throw a punch, but the circumstances where I would be the first one to get physical, especially if it were 1 on 3... would be very rare (to the point where I've never encountered a moment like that).

The most notable times I personally had interactions with girl bullies when I was a kid they directly threatened violence. They never carried through, I believe because something about me seemed to indicate I would win in a fight, but usually those threats came after they had been name calling and verbally bullying someone more vulnerable and I told them to stop. So there is definitely something to girl bullies being more verbal than physical. Boy bullies I dealt with did some name calling, but also threw rocks at me (granted, I only dealt with boy bullies in grade school, not high school, I know guys who dealt with verbal abuse from boy bullies throughout high school as well).

Depends on the situation, I think. I personally had the exact opposite experience. Maybe because the father of one of the boys who bullied me was a police officer. Kid knew exactly how far he could go without leaving evidence. The leader of the girl group threw a chair at me. 😅

As someone who was bullied by other girls in school, I can confirm that a few of them were on that level of wit. Boys were often more straightforward and to the point with their bullying, so it was sometimes easier to shake off. Those girls who were quick-witted, though? Vicious as hell. I had to quickly learn to keep up, and that often meant trying to think ahead of them. Rory should have absolutely been honest with Paris from the start. It would have circumvented many issues that come from this. I had completely forgotten about all of this before this video, so I'm glad you covered it! It's fun remembering things through your eyes and seeing what all I still remember and what comes back. Thanks, Jono and ML team!

Gotta defend Paris here... she didnt blow up on Rory because she met with Francie. I think Paris saw right through that. She went off on Rory because she spilled the beans on the boyfriend she wanted to keep secret..... But you're about what Rory should have done. Then Paris should have been more secretive about it. Yeah Rory unintentionally mentioned she had a boyfriend to defend her but the puzzle wasn’t that hard to put together. Rory just confirmed what everyone was assuming. again it was Francie manipulating the situation to her advantage and Paris falling for it.

I agree, Paris knows that Rory isn’t mean spirited enough to actually collude with Francie. She’s pissed that she opened up to Rory, and trusted her and Rory (albeit by accident) spilled her secret. Paris admits later in the show that she always expects the worst from people, and so for her to share and trust Rory is a big deal. I’m not saying her actions towards Rory are okay, just more understandable.

I don't think that Rory really considered Paris a friend until after this incident. Did you know that there's a fan theory that came out after the movie came out? It was that the book that Rory wrote was the series and it's the way that she wished it was. That's why Lorallie wanted to read the book before she gave permission for Rory to publish it.

I am rewatching Gilmore Girls at the moment and there are many scenarios that aren't handled well or simply didn't age well. Could you talk about Paris punishing herself for having sex for the first time? Or her relationship with her teacher. In my opinion both these situations don't give a good example for young people.

I don't think they're SUPPOSED to set a good example. Yes, I wish it would have been more frowned upon, but all the characters make mistakes all the time, they're not supposed to be setting examples

I understand where Francie was coming from. The uniforms they should be allowed to be shorter if they want and the prom location sounds like a wonderful place to host it and I’m glad Paris was able to negotiate with the ladies running it. Shame we didn’t get to see the chilton prom. Why didn’t Rory attend it?

I don't think Rory wanted to attend the Chilton prom, because really, she didn't have a lot of friends there, even though, she made a few. But, she wanted to go to Stars Hollow because she with to school in Stars Hollow most of her school years.. Sadly, she didn't get to go. Or maybe, there wasn't enough time to get tickets for the Chilton prom, and who would she go with?

That would be great to get reactions to Being Erica, especially with the therapy theme in that show (though is the therapist a therapist, really? Lol). Unfortunately people outside of Canada don't know the show. Fantastic concept and execution until that US production company bought it out, canceled it, and I suspect launched a crappy failed US version (I saw some episodes of a show that had the same concept but failed in everything else so it didn't last)

What Paris was angry about, was Rory telling Francie that Paris has a boyfriend, because Paris made her promise not to tell anyone about it.. But, Francie already knew about it. I would love to see what you have to say about Christopher and Lorelai getting married. Personally, I don't like Christopher, and didn't like the whole storyline. But, I think it was necessary, because she always had him on the back burner, in her mind. She had to find out that she needed to let him go.

When Logan comes in - please explain to me why I really don't like him! He doesn't callange her in a way that she grows to be the best version of herself. I think maybe her personality changes for the worse when she is with him. And that's so sad cuz I really liked her from the start in her relationship with her mother and Luke.
