And we do see with time despite the great opportunity she had, rory didn't make it which proves mithum was right all along.. she didn't have what it takes to be in journalism. She lacked basic professionalism as well and lorelai always blaming others for rory's mistakes didn't help either it was always either Jess' or Logan's fault Saint rory could do no wrong. 🙄

This is one of those situations when everyone was somewhat in the wrong... Rory showed an absolute lack of character by breaking down and running away at the first criticism towards her. Lorelai proved that she isn't as open as she think she is regarding her daughter's choices and decisions. Emily and Richard betrayed Lorelai's trust by coddling Rory and give her a escape route for the chance of having a "do-over daughter". Honestly, in retrospective this is probably the second most frustrating storyline in the show after April´s appearance. SPECIALLY considering the sequel.

Thank you! She had lived a pretty sheltered life and when she got to college it was overwhelming for her, the way it is for a lot of people. Maybe most don't have rich grandparents to turn to but plenty of people make mistakes when they are thrown into the 'real world' outside of high school for the first time.
