Yeah Luke never shows you how he feels. It's not like he's been there whenever you needed and always came running whenever you asked. I feel like Lorelei was waiting for a romantic jesture when Luke has done a1000 little things to show he loves her that she has taken for granted

Luke has always held himself back from putting himself in a vulnerable position. It’s not fair for Lorelai to be the only one to always be vulnerable and set herself up for rejection while Luke gets to save himself from it by not addressing the situation at all.

He did do a lot for her. But not in "boyfriend" capacity. As a friend. And he wasn't sure he wanted her either. He liked her but she is too all over the place for him. Luke is serious, chill and introverted, Lorelei is extroverted and always in a happy mood cracking jokes, talking a lot, being extremely childish. For an introvert that kind of a person can become annoying fast. I'm an introvert and people like Lorelei drive me crazy, regardless of how well intentioned they might be. And Luke is very insecure, jealous and stand offish as a boyfriend. I don't like their relationship as lovers. Prefer them as friends.

I love how Lorelai broke up with Luke, got married stayed away from his diner for months then expects him to ask her out on a date cause she sang a song. Why the hell would he think she's all of a sudden ready to give him a chance. She doesn't appreciate what he does which is above and beyond what any man has ever done for her, and never communicates what she wants and gets upset when she doesn't get it. It's crazy. She's lucky he's in love with her.

@@lauriecarson6483 She was definitely expecting something.......not really in Luke's character. I mean looking at Luke's history with women he's incredibly awkward asking the question so to speak. He's a small gesture (or honestly big gesture) kind of guy communicating his feelings. She knows that (I would hope) but is looking for something more akin to asking her out. Don't get me wrong: Lorelai can want what she wants. Everyone has that right. But she was waiting on Luke to not be Luke in terms of expressing feeling and that is always going to seem a bit stupid.

I disagree bc marriage isn’t just about feelings. I don’t think you should get married just bc you love someone very much. It’s a big step in your life in general, and you have to be ready to have that step in your life, no matter how much you love your partner. I don’t think Rory was ready to be a wife, at least at the time, although i do agree that she did love logan enough to marry him. She just graduated college, hasn’t even gotten a job then, nor had a clear idea about what she wanted to do with her life. Definitely not ready for a big commitment like marriage.
