In this Gilmour Theory we will see three different types of clean tones used by Gilmour.
This video doesn't apply to a specific period, but it is simply about the sound.

We think alike. I run two comps and a clean boost (not all the time, ofc! Mooer Yellow Comp MI Effects Comp/Gate Mooer Pure Boost. And, ofc, always a BD-2 on the board :)

Love this song and album often overlooked are these intro instrumental songs this one i love . I got into david on the delicate sound of thunder album and finally saw him live pink floyd Birmingham al sunday may 1 1994. I do have a question what pedals are good for his tones into a 2018 marshall dsl 40cr.

Direi ottimo lavoro..mi hai fatto venire voglia di mettere su una pedaliera nel tuo stile ,anche se uso il Kemper Profiler e sono sopratutto un Knopfleriano ,una domanda nei video dici gli effetti usati, ma non capisco se aggiungi un reverbero o usi solo il Delay ,perché riproducendo il tuo suono alla fine sembra sempre che ci manchi qualcosa. Comunque mi sto divertendo un sacco a vedere i tuoi video, bravo continua cosi. Grazie

Can you explain what the dual compressors are doing? Each doing a separate job like sustain and grit from one and squash from the other,or are both just compressing the signal?

Ciao Francesco, credi che che giocando un po di piu sull' eq delle medie, sul sustain del cs2 e sulla compressione del plettro/corde, si riesca a far emergere meglio il suono della nota dal resto della pennata e ruomri vari? , cosi da avere maggior presenza e superiore nitidezza/brillantezza del suono suonato rispetto al resto?.. ciao a tutti

@@gilmourtheory quello che sto provando è di ridurre l'effetto "martellata" sull'attacco della pennata, e mantenere al contempo un sustain elevato.., le possibilità di variazione sono poche, tuttavia risulta difficile ottenere tale risultato, sul Clean ovviamente. Personalmente ho ottenuto qualcosa in questo senso, aumentando il sustain e diminuendo il Gain del pre-amp sul tube driver, ne ho guadagnato in brillantezza e dinamica, ma devo comprimere di più su plettro e corda, ma il risultato è quello ke hai sentito;

Hello, it might be late... By using this approach, you can achieve the smooth and crisp attack that is typically heard in P.U.L.S.E concerts and tours. Additionally, with some EQ adjustments, this approach can help you achieve many of the clean tones. Cheers!

ciao Francesco, seguo sempre con interesse i tuoi video. Secondo il mio punto di vista David non usa 2 compressori in shine ed in generale mai( almeno in pedaliera). Un compressore potrebbe essere messo a fine catena, ma come compressore da studio, ma in ogni caso secondo me non lo usa. L' ho visto live a Verona e aveva una fortissima compressione , tipica da ' inizio catena'. Per quanto riguarda i noise sui boss io li ho fatti tutti modificare ( condensatori) e non ronzano piu. ciao

Secondo me in parecchi casi ne utilizza anche 3di ncomoressori, fra kali76 Ke fa da EQ Boost del sustaion.... Il cp9+ maxon (Ibanez scusate) che fa da gate/limiter, sovrapposti al cs2 a iniziò segnale..., almeno e ciò che riscontro a livello di risposta del segnale elaborato con tali effetti e non, rispetto al suono prodotto dal sig. Gilmour in alcune sue performance caratteristiche/tipiche..

Per l'appunto , senza considerare i vari RACK o lo stesso WHAMMY WH-1, ad esempio, che ha una forte compressione del segnale, paragonabile a un CS-2 messo a manetta!!!. ..

It's not his signature (neck's logo and finish). Probably it's a fender american performer or special with different pickups and some modifications on electronics. His pickups is freaking aweosme .
