Also, he could have been talking from the point of view of someone that heard about the parties. There would also be pictures of Bron with Diddy at a party. Ive seen Weekend Warrios beat NBA players in one on one. But when you put those guys out on the court in 5 on 5, the NBA, College and over sees player torch they ass. There is just so much more to think about playing 5 on 5. This is why 1 on 1 games dont really provide enough info on who is a better basketball player. Like there are alot of guards that were way better 1 on 1 players than Kevin Ollie. But yet he has a 10 year career in the NBA and they dont.

1on1 is what determines the pecking order on a competitive team... If you have played competitive basketball, in every practice you play 1on1 to establish the pecking order. Plus, iron sharpens iron. 1on1s in practice is vital so when the time comes for a player to get himself a bucket, his teammates will trust him to take up that big moment.
@thomascrowniii1693Ай бұрын
And yet Lebron doesn't play one on one and he's at the top of the pecking order on every team he's on.

@@thomascrowniii1693 Respectfully, Lebron was not at the top on "every team" he was on. Go back and watch the 08-12 FIBA/Olympics, 2010-2018 All Star games, and his 2012 and 2016 Championships/Playoff Runs. Lebron's way of establishing his pecking order in practice is Free-Throw Competitions
@thomascrowniii1693Ай бұрын
Respectfully, the All Star Game is an exhibition and you could say that Jordan wasn't the best player on every All Star team he played on since he didn't win the MVP in all of them. And FIBA and the Olympics is a All Star team. Every NBA franchise that Lebron has played on he's been at the top of the pecking order without having to play one on one and he's won a title for every franchise he's played on and been the Finals MVP for every one of those titles...without having to play one on one. He doesn't need to prove he's the best player by playing one on one; lesser players have to do that when there's some kind of question about who that player is. There is no question about that with Lebron even today...and he's 40.

Often times, GOAT debates, player A vs. player B debates are subjective because it's all oriented around team success, roster, systems, situations, etc. Case in point, LeBron fans always blame teammates or coaches whenever his team loses. 1 on 1's don't have the same scapegoat, in LeBron's own words "it's just basketball"

First off, LeBron has five playoff buzzer readers, which is the most in NBA history, and MJ only has three. And as you can see here, on go ahead shots in the final five seconds of playoff games, MJ was 5 for 11, and in that same situation LeBron is 7 for fifteen.

I was an early Bronz fan since since he came into the league and I've only heard of Bronz losing in 1 on 1 - lost to 6-1 NFL retired player Ocochinco 17-21 and fell on his butt on the last shot, lost to Beasley apparently every time 30 games in a row where at the next practice Bronz didn't want to be matched up with Beasley anymore, lost to Chalmers, lost to Wade etc. Clearly he is not a 1 on 1 player which is why he shies away from it, he likes to pass to elite outside shooters so he can have space to get close to the rim. Gil said this is his greatest strength and I agree - he avoids his weaknesses and plays to his strengths. He scores the majority of his points within 3 ft and avoids midrange iso plays or post moves since they are the most difficult shots. He's obviously got holes in his offense but he's consistent with demanding two other #1 options on the team to draw defenses away from him so he can get to the rim. He was dead last in midrange fg% last year apparently so again, he is consistent with playing to his strengths by minimizing his attempts there. This is why he is the goat. If you can hide your weaknesses for so long that people think you have none, then that means something.

Another weird thing to consider with LeBron is the fact that he is the only player to be called the "king" best of all time before he ever played a game. Everyone else even played then became the next then the great. LeBron was advertised as the best ever before he ever played. It's just society and marketing is key. LeBron even sounded like a French name not African American, it intrigued people. And guess where basketball is big now. France.
