most important thing about this crew is that they talk about the 'relationships' between players. between role players and stars and superstars. contracts and relationships between players, coaches, GM's and owners. I think the player podcast thing has a limited lifecycle though. Eventually it will burn out especially when it gets overly saturated and you come at it from a "I'm right because I played and you don't know what you're talking about because you didn't" standpoint. There will be outliers that will stick around for the long haul though like Gil, Shannon, Shaq, Cam, and other well known personalities in sports.

My only issue I have with players saying a journalist never played but if someone has done the research and put the time in to learn the game and has covered the game for a lengthy amount time played or not they also share perspective that players don't have. If we went on this philosophy then there wouldn't be no news because that's how this world works. People study to talk about topics that they have covered for decades. Now my issue is not every player that has played needs to talk either because of the lack of journalism skills it's more emotional talking than actual facts and that's what players say journalist don't have so which one is it cuz it can't be both.

watching sports my entire life and never playing at a professional level. i can say i've never been a fan of the debate format shows. Gil's Arena, JJs podcast, All the Smoke, and The Pivot is what i would like to see on TV. I'm a fan but i love the stories yall give. Keyon was my favorite player growing up and hearing his stories on The Pivot was soo good. Love what yall are doing and wish this could be the norm on main stream television. cause the debate stuff going all the way to Cold Pizza was just and is just terrible. But i understand a lot of the fan like that cause they see people that are talking about a team or a player and know that that person never played and are saying the same thing they say and can relate. I find commentating of sports games to be the same way less with the NBA by some, but narratives during a football game is wild to me and if you listen to a game your opinions of the teams change based one what the commentators are saying. so i just mute now. But love yalls show wish i could watch it on Foxsports 1 or ESPN but till then imma rock it on YT.
