Yep. With basketball, you gotta have a certain amount of SKILLS to even get on court. With football, athleticism comes first, then skills. If you’re skilled and athletic at football, you can be a MAJOR problem on the field, but you can do A LOT of damage, just with your athleticism, and if you have the athleticism, they can always find a place for you and teach you some skills, it ain’t that easy with basketball. Football “skills” is more of a list of “do’s and don’ts” than skills. Knowledge of coverage etc, knowing where you’re supposed to be, where everyone else is supposed to be, what gaps to hit, what gaps NOT to hit 😂 etc. Intangibles coupled with the athleticism sets you above the rest, but it’s not necessary to play the game at a high level. An example would be Warren Sapp. I saw him saying he was a tight end when he came into the league and the coach wanted him to play defense and Sapp said he didn’t know anything about defense and the coach said it would be fine. (Paraphrasing) It definitely was fine. The point being, the man made it all the way to the nfl only knowing how to play his position, then was able to switch to defense and become one of the best to play his position. Plenty of players swap to totally different positions. “Oh you’re not good enough to play QB at the pro level, but we can move you to WR.” Happens all the time with different positions. Not really the case with basketball. You can be big, fast and jump higher than everyone else but if you can’t handle the ball at least a little bit, pass and shoot, you ain’t getting on the court. All that being said Simple’s mathematics means football is an infinitely more complex sport. 22 players on the field versus 10. Offense, defense, special teams..all separated from one another. As such it’s very reasonable that a player could make it all the way to nfl only knowing his position. It’s why knowledge of the game coupled with your athleticism puts you above everyone else. Because it’s complicated and people tend to only know what they’re supposed to do. 😂 “Doing YOUR job” is a big thing in football.

Kenyon a real one for the hall pass excuse. Athletes know exactly what he talking about especially if your school was “urban”

College Football allows approximately 85 scholarships compared to 13 in College Basketball. Joel Embiid started playing basketball @| roughly the same age this kid played football. Now he’s on the dream team.

Cooper Flagg will have a better legacy than the walking embarrassment that is Gilbert Arenas.

Arenas had a stellar career. 8 seasons over 17pts in the league is incredible. Not an easy feat.

Cooper is the real deal. Crazy skilled. Also select team in 1992 beat dream team because Michael didn't play. When he played the second game they won by like 50.

Its crazy this dude is my cousin, really distant but my last name is Flagg, my fathers father (my grandfather) had a brother Al Flagg, who had a son, who had a son named Ralph and thats Cooper and Aces Father, Im from Massachusettes and somewhere along the line some of the family moved to Maine and started a Winnebago/Mobile Camper business . My father passed away in 2019 before I ever heard of Cooper but knew I had family in Maine

Not only is he good but his style of play is nice to watch. He’s a highlight reel even scoring layups.
The big kid going to Georgia played football growing up. He stopped as he grew a little too tall

I see alot of complaining, but Gil is right, just because you have the skills to get there, doesnt mean shit if you cant adjust to the pace of the league.

flag is a lot like a young lebron or larry bird, lots of hype and pressure but he seems undaunted. He is also pretty big like and has some very nice passing and vision like them, he has a great mind for the game. Excited to see him in the league

Cooper stands out from his peers like James and Bryant did. If he stays healthy, the sky is the limit.
@lilrhymes144 ай бұрын
Cooper has an NBA game, he looks like he will day 1 and contribute. The fact people still talking about Bronny as a Lakers fan I don’t expect him to a HoFer or even an all star I just think he could be a role player of the bench which is good enough for 2nd round pick

Gil, Flag just went up against all time greats, grown men, his size or bigger, and balled out. But you say he won’t do well against people his size when he moves up to NCAA and NBA?
@jpesicka4924 ай бұрын
You call him a college player but he’s basically a high school player right? Has he played college ball yet, he just graduated no? He’s a Duke commit or commitment is technically what he is.
