Great review,I totally agree with you,the 8.5 gti now has the front aluminium subframe from the TCR and revised front suspension and it shows ,great car.

This gti is clearly a step forward from the mk8. However, some details are still to be polished. The price is high, but come on let's be honest, is not only the gti. Any other ordinary car is much more expensive than the same back in the days. In my humble opinion mk8.5 is a quite good gti.

Speaking from Europe, it is good that you guys are getting the 8.5 in 2024 (unlike the US market), but it is weird that you don't get the front fog lights!!!

Foglights is a euro thing , at least by law. In America we often use our blinkers (hazard lights) if crazy rain or thick fog occurs.

Fog lights were not offered for our market. However the GTI does still have a poor weather light built into the headlights, and this performs the function of the grille-based fog lights.
