Hey so basically I attached my camera to this L bracket mounting plate onto the gimbal and even if I balance it correctly (which is a huge pain in the ass btw) it literally shoots forward or backwards whenever I press up or down on the joystick, basically making it unusable. I can pan left to right with no problem but whenever the camera tilts the motors fail instantly

This is a game changer for me rn, I've got the exact same equipment but this whole time I've been doing vertical handheld because I couldn't get it to balance. Thank you so much! The only thing that bothers me is you can hear the motors straining so just wondering how that will affect their durability in the long run.

Hello! If you want to shoot vertically with heavier lenses on this setup (DJI Ronin SC), Press the M (Mode) button twice after balancing horizontally to switch to vertical mode. This video is for gimbals without the option to do it automatically. Much more of a manual approach.

Great video and very easy to understand. However, it's kind of disappointing that you can't shoot vertically with a gimbal without extra equipment. I want to shoot tomorrow and was hoping that there is a way to do it without getting extra equipment :(
@techbymidas4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the gimbal you have - Some have a mode switch or a L bracket. If you have the same one in my video here (DJI Ronin SC), then you can go from horizontal to vertical mode by double tapping the 'M' button.

Hi, I have been all about your videos. I have a question, how do you get the joystick function to work in vertical Mode? Also, in this video do you have the additional vertical mount that can be purchased? So far I have just used you double tap the “M” button to get into vertical but noticed I lose the function of the joystick. Thanks!

I am using the Ronin-S to do this as well. I am using a Canon M50 mark II and a small rig cage and I got it to balance, but when I try to use the track feature after I set the points the gimbal will only point the camera straight up or straight down. Any idea why? It only happens after I try to start the filming process, but setting the points it seems to work.
