HALIFAX | A Full tour of Halifax City Centre in West Yorkshire England from historic Piece Hall to Halifax Town Hall. A 4K Walking Tour!

We take a walk around Halifax West Yorkshire to see what this city centre is like and what's happening there.
Our route takes us from the historic Piece Hall along Westgate and up to Westgate Arcade, then along Southgate and past Albion Street and down to Corn Market.
We also take in Old Cock Yard, Russel Street, and Cheapside before coming to The Old Arcade and Old Market and then onto Halifax Town Hall.
There are lots of little shopping centres and arcades along the way including Arcade Royale and Albany Arcade which was closed when we filmed sadly.
Halifax West Yorkshire is a town in Calderdale in the North of England. Halifax is actually situated in the South East of the Pennines and close to Bradfield and Huddersfield.
Some of the tourist attractions in Halifax include the Halifax Piece Hall which is an old wool and cloth market where cloth and woollen items were bought and sold.
We also see Borough Market which is an old covered shopping market, and also we check out Halifax Town Hall which still houses the council here.
The town does have sports teams too with Halifax Town being the local football team, and Halifax Panthers being the rugby team of note here. in Halifax UK.
Halifax City Centre is no different to most British or English towns. It has high streets with shops, bars, restaurants, offices and businesses as well as takeaways, stores and markets. Very similar to most British City Centres.

In this walking tour we try and show you the best of Halifax England whether it be the stunning Piece Hall (which really did impress me a lot!) to all the older buildings and historic buildings here.
When we film our walks we like to take our time and wander along the streets and roads of towns and cities we have never visited before, to find the local tourist attractions and find out what makes tourism tick in these places.
As we travel to these places we don't do any research because we want our channel to be one where we film a 4K walk, but we do it where we are surprised by the things we see at the same time you are.
I hope if you take anything away from this video it's that you have seen what it is like in Halifax 2021 and that you would want to come here.

I'm Huddersfield born and bred but have lived in Halifax for 33 years and i would never move back to huddersfield halifax is thriving the piece hall is beautifully stunning

I wouldnt say thriving, walked round there last week and i reckon about one third of shops/businesses were for sale or boarded up

The Piece Hall really is the jewel in the crown. If it was in York or Bath it would be a world famous attraction. The lack of traffic makes quite a difference in the atmosphere of the place. And it looks a lot different in the summer sunshine to when I was there in a cold wet April in 2018

I'm Halifax born and bred and although I live a few miles away in neighbouring Slaithwaite near Huddersfield, I still love my home town and am very proud of it's history and heritage and still often visit as It's only 30 minutes drive from my home, thank you for sharing this fabulous vlog for everyone to admire and enjoy 👍

Love Halifax piece hall is great all year round after refurbishment and at Christmas with stalls. I know bus station is getting a makeover and there’s a huge cinema and Wetherspoons down road too def worth a trip market is one of best in Yorkshire when it’s open. Great video.

Great video, but by no means a Full (as you put it) tour of the town. Halifax has numerous wonderful buildings. The relatively new Hx building society is amazing yet very modern in design. Then there is The Old Cock pub which was built in the 1500's and was where the Hx building society was created in the 1850's. Left Halifax 35 years ago, while it is still familiar it looks so much cleaner than I remember. Thanks for the memories.

I was in Halifax bk in March/april 2024. I saw the westgate arcade during a bus tour. I wanted to go but thought it was a long walk. Thanx to this video I now know there is a shortcut thru the piece hall. (Unless it was from the magic of editing lol)

Visited Halifax recently and can recommend the Minster Church ( truly beautiful ), the Borough Market ( lots of great local produce ) and the Three Pigeons pub ( art deco interiors and great ales from Ossett ). Thankd for the vid.

A good video - what I find odd is that you used a gimbal but I can see the bounce from every one of your steps - one other small point - as a professional film maker, I recommend you slow down your panning considerably, and introduce a larger number of still shots. Regards, David
