Rye in Sussex is another fantastic town with shops, cafes, pubs, churches, nice looking buildings, a little bit of everything here and i really like how the streets look, it has a very nice small town feel to it and this is another great town to explore and enjoy the very beautiful scenery of, until next time again take care and thank you. 🇬🇧👋🇬🇧

I lived round here for quite some time of my adult life, and it was funny when I watched the last series of Black Mirror, the episode 'Beyond the sea' is supposed to be set in 1969 America, and when the characters go into the town there, I thought, "Hang on a minute! That's the bottom of Mermaid Street!" (16:30 on this video, The Strand, Old Borough Arms and the Mermaid café)- I haven't seen the Crown, and didn't know that. On holiday in Asia, I saw some Korean pop boy band video where half was the sights of London, the other half of the time was around Rye, and the Old Bell pub garden on The Mint. Lovely place, great informative video again.

Big fan, love your walks but…but…the most beautiful part of Rye was missed! Church Square, West Street(Lamb House), Watchbell Street, and down to Ypres Tower. Beautiful cobbled traffic free streets up there. Well, you loved it, I’m sure you’ll visit again. Thanks for sharing.

I video called my Father while in Rye who was in a Nursing Home in Australia on Respite for 6 weeks while I was away in England in 2017 so he could see what I was seeing. He used to take us to Rye when we lived at Ashford in Kent on weekends when I was 12 in 1973. I fell in love with Rye & always wanted to stay overnight at the Mermaid Inn which we never did. Hence my epic journey described above. I cried outside the teahouse below the Church because that’s where we visited when I was a child. Rye is a very emotional place for me. Thanks for the revisit. ❤

Great to see Rye I went there 56 years ago when j was 10 and certainly then remember it as a picturesque place altho I didn't realise it was so big,but I guess over the years it will have changed like most places. We were staying at Camber Sands which is not far away. Thanks Neil for lovely blog 😊

I love Rye. I love your films too, they are so relaxing. A lot of video makers add hideous, obtrusive soundtracks. Apart from the odd little bit of guitar music, which I like, you keep the natural sounds of the places you film. Seagulls, sound of tyres on wet roads, that fizzing sound the sea makes on the stones on the beach. So calming, thank you for making them. Do go and see Woodbridge in Suffolk if you haven't already.

I drove all day in 2017 from Tavistock in Devon to Rye ALONG THE COAST where I had booked for the night at the famous Mermaid Inn. It was an insane drive of in excess of 300 miles & I was violently ill along the way beside a farmers hay shed. I also toured Fishbourne Roman Palce at Chichester enroute. It was an epic journey & one not to be repeated. Madness!

Modern cars, re-modernised buildings and infrastructure together with the overall feel of the village. I only viewed the video for around 20 seconds and immediately, it felt way to advanced unlike the original state that it should be in. Everything about it feels like any other village in the UK. It does not have that ambience associated with it. Now, I say "original state" and everyone would say that the village has to move with the times and get refurbished otherwise the buildings will crumble. Yes, correct. That is true. However, I must stress that the old days were much mire serene unlike the new days we witness now.

Wouldn’t say it’s the prettiest town in England, not by a mile, it’s got a couple of stunning streets like the cobbled hill leading up to the church.. but that’s it really, the council have closed the public toilets, there are normally rough sleepers down by the train station car park… and it is way way over priced on everything.. we go there most weekends because of the nature reserve… parking is normally impossible…. Yeh it’s a nice place, but the best in England NO!
