I was at Broadstairs in th '90s for two weeks when I learned at Kent School of English. This is an amazing town, I loved to stay here. It remains an eternal memory for me. And with much love, I remember the housewife and her husband, who was a sailor, where I lived at that time. Really lovely place.

Broadstairs is the forgotten beach between Ramsgate and Margate. I loved living there and my favourite memory was playing on the beach with my daughter in the snow. Quite amazing. Back in tthe day there used to be a water festival week and masses of activities for families. I lived 5 minutes from the beach, heaven.

Hi and thanks. I was born there in my grandmother's house on the cliff-top in 1950 and played on the beach until 1958 when we moved to Buckinghamshire. Thanks for the memories, it is remarkably unchanged!

Wonderful - thank you! I lived in Margate (Cliftonville) as a child, then Ramsgate, and Broadstairs was somewhere we went all the time. Loved The Tartar Frigate pub, and all the Dickensian memorabilia. It was always the "posh" town! As someone who now lives thousands of miles away, it is so satisfying to see that so much hasn't changed. Morelli's had a branch in Ramsgate (and Margate) and it was the hangout for us as teens in the '60's (as well as Pelosi's). Such nostalgia!

Fun fact: @7:31, up that road, opposite the shop with the red awning, is "Harrington's", an old, traditional hardware shop that was the inspiration for the "Four Candles" sketch by the Two Ronnies. "Ronnie Barker is said to have been inspired to write the famous Four Candles sketch whilst on a visit to Broadstairs to see his comedy partner, Ronnie Corbett. Corbett had a holiday home next to the Charles Dickens public house and just along from H. E. Harrington's general ironmonger business that is famed for stocking everything you could possibly need."

The building with the beautiful frontage at the 7 min mark, used to be a guest house called "Blades", which is where I would stay whilst on holiday. Top floor, right hand side and gave you fantastic views of Viking Bay. Enjoyed, thank you.

Just back from having a weekend in Ramsgate, and on the 24th July walked to Broadstairs. Weather was awesome, with lots and lots of people, it was packed, and all the shops were open. Had a meal and drink in the Dickins pub. That was very busy to. And another in one of those three pubs lol. It's probably the only coastal town I've been to so far that actually makes me feel like I'm at the beach! The colours, the pretty beach, a hive of activities all over and old VW camper vans actually being used as camper vans. Very very beautiful town. House prices are astronomical to. Great video, and a different view in a quieter time. Must have been winter?

Lovely, lovely part of the world and so well shot in that superb weather! One thing to look at whilst in Broadstairs (apart from inside Morelli's which is superb) is Harrington's Ironmongery in York Street. It is reputed to be the inspiration for the famous Two Ronnies "Fork Handles" sketch - apparently R. Corbett had a place nearby. Whether or not that is true it is almost exactly like the set from that scene once you get inside. I felt obliged to buy something just to keep it going!

Loved this film, only an hour from my home. Can I suggest when you are in Kent once more you do a film starting in Birchington, Minis Bay, WestgateBay, And St Mildred’s Bay. This is where I am holidaying this year. I don’t think you have done Southport and is long pier as yet, so many Lovely places to visit. Keep up the good work

Thanks. It takes me back. I had a nice stay in one of the sea front apartments between Chandos Square and Morellis about 10 years ago. Have you done Eastbourne and Walton-on-the Naze? They are both places I vaguely remember from seaside outings as a kid, about 60 years ago and it would be nice to get a refresher some time. Thanks again.
