When i pulled the symmetric i got off the speed and quickly folded my legs under myself to avoid twisting. But I did not notice I was still on half speed after that. At the time I had less then total one hour of flying on the Carrera and the same for the pod harness. Unfortunately I also lost my left brake when I pulled the symmetric. So the cravatte and the late opening of the glider was of course due to pilot error. In the video i first try to get the cravatte out by pulling the stabilo line, although in the moment i did not take the time to find the correct line and ended up pulling everything that was loose. I then followed the instruction over radio to try to pull a assymtric on the cravatted side, but i did not manage. At the time I had never done a full stall and I guess that was the reason why I never got the instruction to pull one. In the end It was a interesting and educational experience to fly with a quite large cravatte, and the water was quite warm as well :-). I'm very impressed of the performance of this glider, but I might stay of the speed bar until i got some more hours on the glider.

Eventhough I dont think its NOT good idea to consider this wing as EN-B.

Sebastian Persson Thanks for sharing. It shows well how , sometimes, is NOT so easy to pull out a cravatte

This is a totaly EN-C wing and should have flown responsibly. Greetings to uncle Gin.

Just don't think of it as an EN:B it is a C that normally recovered better than most C wings

other thing to consider would be at least keeping the direction of the coast, and just before the water uncliping the harness and preparing for the impact :)

Did you draw the right line to pull the tip to the exterior side ? You had enough time to find the right line I think... But inpressive at the end ;-)

You should have tried pulling down just the A riser. It would have pulled the leading edge down, causing the tension on the lines to relax. The wing would have inflated and pulled itself back into position. (if pulling on the A riser does not fully inflate the wing the first time try again and again until the wing fully inflates)

Pull another full stall and the glider will back fly and open up.

That's why full stall should be learned before accelerated collapses.

On my SIV course I will try first the stall and B-stall, then symetric, then asymetric and only then... accelerated colapses. If the instructor will approve this order.

What I experienced in SIV is that Full Stalls often result in full frontals, if exited slightly wrong. Therefore collapses should definitely be trained first. Collapses aren't THAT bad. In emergency, you just pull your reserve, no need for stall.

Why you still have gas on?

El ala trae una linea en el cuerpo de bandas c q sirve para sacar corbatas!! No se ve q se concentro en sacarlo x allí

Hi, scary issue :-) ! One thing i don't get : why after seeing that pulling the stab line make you go in a bad autorotation, don't you do a full stall as you are so high over the water? Did the instructor not told you to do so?
@matze24307 жыл бұрын
mhh also thinking full stall works... and he hafe rly mutch space or not?
@m.sierra52587 жыл бұрын
As he wrote in the description, he never did a stall yet, and stalls are one of the few things that can really go wrong, even above water.
