Saw 'Brazil' in its first showing in a Soho theatre while in London on a school trip. Fascinating and engrossing, but I knew the original ending would never make it 'across the pond' as is.

The Friends of Eddie Coyle contains one of Robert Mitchum's finest performances. One of the greatest crime-dramas ever made. Gina will definitely like it, and I love how she used Robert Mitchum's characters in film noir as a reference for hers in Bound.

It's actually been a while since I saw that movie. I've seen a lot of movies with Mitchum. He doesn't seem to have a lot of range but Criterion has some of his best performances, The Night of the Hunter being another one. Victor Mature is another actor who was hardly a stand out but again Criterion has My Darling Clementine, in which I consider to be his finest performance that I've seen

@@mmayer1558 The Night of the Hunter is definitely another great Mitchum film/performance. My Darling Clementine is also another favorite of mine and Victor Mature definitely gave a fantastic performance as Doc Holliday. Criterion has done a great job of highlighting these actors best work.

Thanks for the info. Only discovered Mitchum last year but was blown away by his performance in Night of the Hunter, loved Out of the Past as well. I'm about to watch Bound for the first time right now and just clicked on this on a whim so it was a pleasant surprise to discover another Mitchum film in the process. Gina singing the Godzilla theme was the cherry on top
