Gina Shoots Pedrosa Down | Miami Vice

Miami Vice team raids Pedrosa's place but he's left for The Blue Note, where Gina is singing. Pedrosa spots Herzog and starts firing; Gina shoots him down as Crockett and Tubbs arrive. In the confusion Herzog slips out the back door, sharing one last look with Gina as she watches him leave.
From Miami Vice Season 3 Episode 24 "Heroes of the Revolution": The team is working on a Cuban named Pedroza. They discover another man keeping tabs on him. They learn that he's a Communist agent. He goes to see Gina and tells her that he knew her mother when she was still in Cuba and that she was murdered by a jealous ex-lover, Pedroza.

According to Sonny Crockett's character history, he volunteered for military service in Vietnam in the early 1970s. In real life, Don Johnson attempted to join the United States Marine Corps around that time. However, unlike Crockett who served a combat tour in Vietnam, Johnson was rejected due to a criminal conviction for drug possession.

She's a technically very good singer, but the interpretation was so broad and cliche that I wouldn't pay for a performance like that. Awesome chord fills by the great Jan Hammer at the end, though.
