In 1986, Neeson was cast as Sean Carroon, an IRA terrorist masquerading as a pacifist plotting to bring down the Concorde in the third season opener "When Irish Eyes Are Crying". This was one of his last TV appearances, as his movie career continued to pick up steam.

Season 3 opened with a bang with Miami Vice taking on another dark story this one centred on Irish terrorism. German actor Walter Gotell who plays an arms dealer Neeson does business with was huge staple of 80’s film & tv with this, Airwolf and For Your Eyes Only. MV did a lot of movie style episodes but this one especially with the ballad The Last unbroken Heart filling out the finale.

Concorde was the world's first commercially operated supersonic airliner (while the Russian Tu-144 was completed first, it did not enter service until after Concorde had begun flying passengers). It was jointly developed by the British and the French and introduced to regular air travel in 1976. It had a top speed of Mach 2 and was capable of crossing the Atlantic from London to New York in less than three and a half hours, under half the time of traditional sub-sonic airliners. Phil Collins famously flew on Concorde in 1985, allowing him to perform at both the UK and US venues for Live Aid during the same day. Economic, safety, and environmental concerns forced Concorde's retirement in 2003.

Got Miami Vice for Christmas last year and just now got around to watching it. Liam Neeson had such a baby face back then. My favorite part of that episode was after Gina had shot him to stop him from carrying out his terrorist aims and Crockett hugged her when she started crying after she saw that Liam Neeson's character was dead and then Tubbs rubbed her back a bit. All the characters in this show could never have a stable relationship.
