Awesome. I was lucky enough to hear the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra play this concerto a couple of years ago, but dismayed that there wasn't a recording available at the merch table! This new project is a great thing, and I'm going to get this CD.

Fabulous! I bought the cd a few months ago, and thought, “wow!” Now, having seen you play it just amazed me all over again!

Phenomenal technique- but in service to what? Studied ugliness...

@@moirbasso7051 ok and that’s your opinion... you say it’s studied ugliness as if it’s a fact lol. I just find it interesting that you don’t even enjoy this piece considering how tonal it is compared to his other works

@@zgart My 'opinion' is backed by a Doctorate in Music, a career spanning fifty years, and having worked with some of the greats in music. Music after WWI sought to be ugly as its' defining characteristic- it is effete, pseudo-intellectual, and devoid of Grace. AG's Ps. 150 is sheer noise, and has NOTHING that is incarnational. Here- read something , youngster, and learn. www.barnhardt.biz/2020/12/14/the-aesthetics-of-the-diabolical-giant-piles-of-robot-manure-and-hellish-din/

@@moirbasso7051 sheer noise? I would think that if you studied music thoroughly that you would understand that music is not all about sounding pleasant. AND EVEN THEN, this piece sounds extremely pleasant compared to most other modern works.... filled with beautiful melodies and such. Did you even listen to the first movement? Obviously your music degree didn’t do you well if you can’t even identify simple tonal melodies
