Great gameplay, after struggling with just stage 1 in hard mode the other day (10 hits taken, and a total amount of 15 lives amassed if i recall correctly) I wish i had checked youtube for inspiration beforehand. Is that secondary you're using the final homing missile upgrade ?

Yeah, it is. Before I did these runs, I went through and cleared all of Hard without worrying about rank just to get funds to be able to buy everything. Having all of the best tools at my disposal helped significantly for some of these as I don't think some of them are even possible without doing so, especially stage four. I usually brought in homing when I needed to quickly clear annoying side mobs when you're focused on a different objective, especially in the first few stages.

Excellent video! What weapons are you using?

I don't have the game installed right now so I'm looking at a wiki-esque site for the names. Stages 1 through 9 all use the Demolish Ion Blaster for the main due to consistent high damage while stage 10 uses the Heavy Genocide Cannon, since it's just a single target and defeating him ASAP is crucial. Something that isn't shown here is that, as the timer ticks down, he repeatedly does his rotation in the second phase to a much, much faster pace the closer the clock gets to 0. As for secondary weapons, stages 1-3 and 7 I believe use Divine Sword "Mitsurugi" for clearing out side mobs that I can't easily access that don't immediately punish me. Later on, for stages 6 and 8-10 I use Option Bit IV Quattro 2. The fun gimmick with that is you can charge bombs still while the Quattro fires, which becomes useful for clearing out some of the grouped mobs while giving you a bit of safety. Stage 5 uses the Bumper Buster Divider since that easily handles the cargo ships mission objective and I can't recall or see what I used for stage 4. I'm inclined to believe it might be the shotgun but I don't remember if the shotgun encircles you or not. Either way, it's used to get massive damage off on the ship parts (most likely the only viable sub weapon there if you're going for S). I took advantage of a few blind spots in that stage, and even then, just barely cut through the timer at the end there. The special weapon was generally Ultimate Charge Bomb since it's an incredible offensive tool to mass destroy mobs while cancelling bullets and defensive tool in its "free hit" capability once you reach 25 charge or higher. There's plenty of circumstances to use shields and time manipulation, I just preferred bombs. Time manipulation in particular is interesting since it can be used aggressively to effectively double DPS in certain situations. The engine is one of the two two-speeds. I'm used to the general bullet hell model of a "fast" and a "slow" speed, and while this game offers three speeds and one speeds, that's pretty dependent on your own playstyle. Add-ons can be whatever you want mostly. Since S ranks have a life requirement, any of the life ones were useless to me. I know HP visibility is on and Anti-Debris is pretty essential for the stage 5 boss. I'm pretty sure stage 2 uses the jamming add-on since the searchlights look smaller than usual. I think some energy consumption reduction ones were used. I never did find out what FCSE actually does, but it's theorized that it somehow has usage in stage 7, to which I never used it. I want to say that most weapons or playstyles are viable enough for regular playthroughs. I messed with pretty much everything before I settled on what I ended up using here. However, if you're trying to do all of the objectives/S ranks, you'll need to be mindful of onscreen timers and how long certain mobs stay on screen before they cycle off. Some weapons (a lot of the lower tiers and potentially even some max) simply cannot destroy them fast enough. It's a rather long winded response, but I hope it answered what you were looking for.
