I keep in the refrigerator a half gallon glass with ginger bugs, grapes and limes... everyday I drink a glass from it and I replenish with water and 1 small spoon of sugar... once a week I add some extra pieces of ginger, lime and some grapes. A nice cool healthy fizzy soda. Every 30+ days I discard everything.

Great video, it wasn't mentioned in the video but was shown during preparation, it is critical to leave the skin on the ginger when you grate it. If you remove the skin it is highly likely that you will get no fermentation at all. 👍

Great job. Bravo. I made a ginger bug once and added it to my kombucha for its second fermentation. I a tored the liquid in square flip top bottles. Bad idea. A few days later they exploded. Vaporizing most of the glass into dust and ginger kombucha was Everywhere. Moral here is only use circle/round bottles with tight lids to store fermenting beverages. Trust me on this. …also, have you made kombucha yet? Great beverage. Good for your gut biome. Give it a try. Would love to see it on this channel.

Really good , but can you say how much alcohol can I get with The ginger bug? With spontaneous fermentation of Orange Juice I got aprox 11%

I was made airlock at my home with a slim pipe and one side of my pipe inside the fermentor jar and the other side of my pipe inside a bottle and I'm pour the water inside this bottle i mean I'm fill the bottle by water and for this other side of my pipe stay down with water and when my fermentation is start then there are comes bubbles from the pipe inside the water and the bubbles are going to the top inside from the water

Okay - this is so much different than the other videos I have watched. I was told to use about 1 1/2c water, 1 tbsp ginger and 1 tbsp sugar, and that adding to it everyday (and stirring once/day) and it would be ready after 3 days or so, but at day 3 my bug consistently stops bubbling. I don't know what to do... is it too much water? I'm using raw sugar. I'm on my third bug attempt and dead each time after 3 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks I tried it with white cane sugar in large quantities. It took about 24 hours for the bubbles to appear and the balloon lifted after about 32 hours.

Can an old ginger bug be activated? I cleaned out the fridge and discovered my old ginger bug. I tasted it and it taste like 100 proof alcohol. It is clear and strong. Can it be used to make fermented drinks?

Grazie good idea I saw others on You Tube where they add water and takes about 5 days.I wish I could get out of the USA not the same USA for me now,my Italian dad from Bovino Foggia if he was still alive would not believe what is happening now,so much anti white hate now really sick of it.
