The king going shopping without any underpants is one of the funniest ideas to an excellent mate idea I've ever heard. Riotous, and inspirational in equal parts.

ahaha chess quote of the week "the kings gone shopping and has forgot his underwear, "whoever has been employing mr king to commentate on English chess made a bad decision, ! would love to see a dual commentary with you and mr Maurice Ashley, that would be a mix ! thanks mr ginger gm ! how are you so good at chess yet so nice, id be arrogant as fluff if I were as good as you, not really but most people would be !

Simon, I followed your up & down (more down?) tournament in Hastings with interest, and found this to be your most striking game too. I've got two questions ... While playing, did you know the final position against Danny was a draw? To me it also looked very advantageous, but I'm rated about 500 points below you. I only found out later that Rc1+ probably held. How did he react when finding out (and did someone (possibly even you?) show him, or did he find out when looking at it with a computer engine?), keeping in mind you guys are friends? How hard is it really to sit across from Oleg Romanishin for several hours, having to look at his puckered face? I've never met him in person, but I can picture him being the kind of person chomping on his dentures while in deep thought. Anyway - nice game, Simon! Thanks for taking the time to share it with us!

Hi Simon, Happy New Year mate. Did you know that GM Larry Christiansen has created a game of the day video based on your game against Anderson on the ICC website? Very instructive as well. All the best Michael

Hi mr English gm, good to see more English people online even if they are from the south ! why is everyone who plays white so afraid of the mainline, if someone wants to give me their centre that's fine, ill take it, ! no need to bother poor harry there, he is old and lazy, that's why he is on the H file and why he is usual ob is sitting there and guarding the king, im telling the rspcc (royal society prevention of cruelty to chess pieces ) !

not letting someone go to the bathroom when its your move is ridiculous, its obvious your not a cheat, you could take your phone in if it was up to me, ive never met a cheat once in my life, I guess at top level it might be an issue but the way amatures take rules like that so serious is ridiculous, ! id personally let anything slide, short of definite cheating (conferring with another team mate or using an engine) people should just relaxand enjoy the game, geez !
