Hi Simon! Was nice seeing and playing you both in Belfast and Bunratty! When I played a blitz against Simon and was just about to move my bishop, blundering my knight, Simon coughed very distinctively to warn me! What a man! Well played against Nigel. Next time you'll nail him! Next year we are going to sing together ;-)

This may one of the best videos I have EVER seen for a clear explanation of plans and moves! Saturday morning with some coffee kicking back and watching a Simon video is one of my favorite ways to relax. Simon-Here is a thought if you ever get the budget, "Chess and a Pub". Blitz games on the internet but you work from a pub and we get to see some pictures in between, or even live situations so the pub gets some "pub" also so (that is why they might go along with it). A win win. Something no one else is doing. Surely you will get some free Guinness out of it too!

Hello Simon, i love your vids you're a really neat bloke, you are! I was about 7 years ago at my University chess tournament in a great touristic mountain location here in Romania, drinking a pint was encouraged there also, and about 13 more after one day of playing chess, knowing you had to get up early and start playing next day, good times..good times. Anyhow keep out the good job, cheers !

No disrespect to Nigel Short , but the word Legendary is regularly both overused and misused.

+Mark Callaghan Well, the guy played for the world championship against Kasparov, defeating along the way in a match non other than Anatoly Karpov (the only one to defeat Karpov in a match besides Kasparov). For everybody that elevates Short to the "Legendary" status.

Anyone who becomes a Challenger for the World Championship title has a legitimate claim to being considered a "legend" in the chess world. A look at some of the other Challengers demonstrates the point: Chigorin, Marshall, Tarrasch, Bogolyubov, Bronstein, Korchnoi, etc. All chess legends. Short also rose to World #3 at one point in his career: something only a tiny fraction of chessplayers ever do. Nigel also defeated Karpov (legend) in a Candidates match, which no one but Kasparov (legend) had ever done.
